Buffy the Vampire Slayer (UPN, Tuesday, May 21, 8-10 pm/ET): Willow turns back to the dark side to avenge a friend's death. I'm sorry, but this show has been a real downer this year.

They just don't want to give away who dies.

Again, next weeks promo is gonna be the thing that tells the tale, they will probably do a dramatic pan of everyone and say "One of the Scoobs are not going to make it".

I seem to remember this conversation on the Spoiler thread - but to kind of sum it all up. They really can't say a lover dies or something like that because it gives it all away.. and we still really don't 110% know for certain that Tara dies. If they say lover or girlfriend, well then the cats out of the bag as W/T are the only functioning relationship as of that episode.

At least TV Guide agrees the season is a downer.

Yes that is the key here what TV Guide says, clearly they know what is going to happen and they were obviously hoping for something more creative and less depressing. EW was a long time supporter and they have hated this season, tv guide now chimes in with the same kind of sentiment.

It feels good to know we are not the only ones who think this is just TOO FUCKING MUCH!

Yes,

and while ME and TPTB may not be paying us any attention, they do look to TV Guide and EW. Not that they are trade papers, but it is what the masses read.

If TV turns people off of a genre show then ME better be paying attention!
I am sure there is some suit right now at UPN getting really nervous.

HEY ME! Wanna solve the problem? Bring TARA back!

I'm waiting to see what [i:52c67c39f8] Salon[/i:52c67c39f8] has to say when they get a look at the end of the season. They were among the first onboard with their "Make Willow Gay" article. I'm betting they tear Joss & Marti limb from limb when they see where the relationship is going to end up.

Not that I would enjoy seeing anyone read Joss & Marti the riot act in such a public forum, mind you... :evil

DR G ...... fucking...... can I come too?

Last season, I noticed that TV Guide constantly praised Buffy, and this season they've hardly mentioned it in their pick of the night specials. I'm not surprised that they think it's a bit much either.

I remember that article. It was the first time I found out that Joss had studied feminist film theory in college.

Is it too late to give a flunking grade?

Anyway. I'll leave it up to better read Kittens to post or pass along anything I might miss.

If we have to go to the bedroom if we say the word "fucking" I think I can get behind that punishment.. oops. I said it to.

I've been on the spoiler thread too long today. Willow, Tara and Kittens, oh my!

I remember the complete Buffy episode guide that EW published in the fall of '99. In their reviews of all the episodes, I remember they said something to the effect that a Buffy "D" episode was still better than an "A" ep of any other series. Not any more, eh?

So, let's see if I've got this right...we're not supposed to say "fucking" in here, right? 'Cause if we do there'll be delicious, uh, dire consequences. Okay, got it. Rest assured, I will not say "fucking." Nope, not me. The word "fucking" will not be said by me...

The tv critic in USA Today has always been a big Buffy too. We'll have to see what he says about the upcoming episode. If he feels the same as most of us, BTVS will have succeded in losing it's three biggest critical supporters. Oh, how proud they must be.

With all the talk on the spoiler thread about whose on top and now the 'fucking' thread something seriously strange is going on here.
Who started messing with the Kittens libido?

At least TV Guide agrees with us that Season 6 has been a real let-down.

I'm not surprised by the use of "friend". They don't want to give it away, but didn't UPN's summaries also say the same thing about a "friend" dying? Perhaps they don't know who dies - wishful thinking.
