"Crack Amber" Sophomore Level Psychology W

Postby tommo » Fri Apr 26, 2002 3:41 pm

Oooh, I just love that line. And hardly anyone uses it anymore, so I thought, seeing as it's now [b:a5c31eab65] way[/b:a5c31eab65] past midnight in the UK, I'd post a weekend thread. Go me. I rule. I'm probably going to get my ass kicked...:lol

So. Apart from it being [b:a5c31eab65] the[/b:a5c31eab65] weekend where our faithful Kittens go to meet Amber and generally cry, sob, cajole, possibly threaten and take her hostage...just kidding. Well, about the crying, anyway. ;) Apart from that, I was thinking, if Willow and Tara wanted to gain some information, what do you think their methods would be? And how hard would they be willing to try in order to get that information?

Me, personally...I think Willow goes for the kill, ticklin' fingers at the ready. Of course, it would depend on whom she was pumping for information. Um, and when I say pumping, I mean uh...well, you know what I mean.

Tara, I think, is more sneaky. In a cute way. One hard look from those blue eyes and I pretty much think anyone would crack. Sigh.

And I'm done. :)

After midnight? Oh, bugger, it's 3.10am. How the hell did that happen?
Oh well, bedtime soon.
But first, W+T methods for gaining information.
Well, judging by Earshot, Willow goes for the clipboard-wielding world of scary psychology. Hell, I would've cracked under that kind of interrogation.
As for Tara, I think she'd probably make with the sweet talk, lull her subject into a very comfortable emotional place, then get them to tell her their darkest secrets.
She's got that "I'll be your emotional crutch" kinda vibe.
In a good way. :shy
Hope everyone has a good one. Think this place is gonna get pretty crowded over the weekend....

Ah yes. Cry. Crack Amber weekend. It does my heart good to see my words in a title this way. Hopefully our kittens will be using everything they learned in their psych classes to get their way and information.

God Speed fair kitties. Here's to Beer, Beach and Benson. A weekend doesn't get much more perfect than that.

I'd like to contribute to the conversation on interrogation techniques, but I'm still stuck on the phrase "crack Amber." I want to say it a thousand times. And then maybe do it.

What she said.

*traipses about the various boards in her uniquely girl-next-door trollop-like manner*

And, oh, the title of this thread is severely cracking me up.

As for getting information out of people ... I think Tara is just such a damn good listener that if she sits with someone long enough, they'll just spill.

Willow, I think, goes for the pouty face or the resolve face.

Well, I think Willow [i:d4368b813a] would[/i:d4368b813a] go for the clip board approach, and would start off all confident and cool, then slowly get more despirate, if things wouldn't work, going through pouting, frowning in that cute way she does, and then finally hitting the detainee over the head with the clip board, shouting "why - won't - you - work!!!"

Tara, on the other hand, would scuttle into the room, and fit herself behind a desk, frown, push a couple of pencils back and forth, look up, grimace, look down again, give herself a muttered pep talk, look up again, and with an implored look, whisper "couldn't you just tell me what we need to know, and then [i:d4368b813a] say[/i:d4368b813a] I beat it out of you?"

Actually feeling quite chipper today. Was passed a good review of the play I was in the week before. Even got a mention. Only local paper stuff, but still - I don't think I've ever gotten a review before ...

This is the first weekend I've had off in ages. Sharon got up and fed and watered Spike the Wonderpooch - who's one year old today (and if he wants to see a second, had better bloody grow out of his teenager stage!), and left me to sleep in. Which was lovely ... until I was woken up with tickles and very cold hands on the butt :eek But at least I have full permission to be a vegetable this weekend. Which I fully intend to be.

hope everyone has a good weekend my darling kittens :)

- about getting infomation out of people - well for Tara i think she would walk into the room and ask very quietly "please could you tell me what we need to know" and if that ain't enough whilst drawing them in with her baby blues , a *sigh* would finish the job . that would certainly crack me .........although i'm not very uncrackable- i am a ball of mush precariously held together with tape and matchsticks......but enough with the imagery (!) .

have a good one ;)

Sweetjane

ps.think of me whilst i stay here chained to academia for the entire weekend . boo hoo . no Benson for me . no sir . just Jane Eyre.......

Crack Amber....heehee

Well I am not expecting much. But I'll take any little shred.

Getting info. I expect Willow would get all CIA on people, like she did with Jonathon in "Earshot" or hack their computers.
Tara would gentlly coax the information out.

Weekend. Me, I am packin' up my fishin' gear and going small mouth bass fishing. Since I am in no mood for cleaning, I think I'll be catch and release. Bass are fun ones to catch.

Have a good one Kitties!!!!

Ruth. Starting your countdown yet? ;)

Oh, adding my exciting weekend plans. Fixing steps on our porch. Tomorrow softball season begins. However with all the expected rain the games may get postponed.

I think Willow would use the same tactics she used on Jonathon in Go Fish and Earshot. Tara seems more like the type of person who sits there and projects a calm presence that just makes you want to give out info.

Hope that those who are going to attempt to Crack Amber are successful. :grin

For the early part of the thread, it looks like they just cut off the last two letters to have it fit in their space requirement, and that clearly flawed methodology produces ``Weeke''. This travesty persists until Web Warlock's post, where the final word suddenly transforms into the much more sensical ``Week''. I think he might have modified it because ``Weeke'' looks silly.

Yes good luck to all the kitties seeing Amber today (I am so jealous), and getting to the cracking of Amber! But really have a fun time, and any little tidbit of info you can find out, feel free to share with us.

As for W&T I think Willow would go all hi-tech using her computer to gain info. However if that failed she would go directly to the person, and start to interrograte them nicely. If the no info was forthcoming she would start pouting, and if the resolve face didn't work she would start screaming until the information was found out. Tara on the other hand, would sit the person down, and just quietly stare at the other person fluttering "her baby blues". Then she would take the person's hand, and sweetly ask if there was anything they would like to unburden themselves with. Not only would she get the info she was looking for, but would probably hear all this person's confessions because Tara is such a good listener.

Have a happy/fun weekend everyone!

Hi y'all... :grin

I'm back! What an adventure it was. [b:9b1615eed6] I got thrown out of the comic store![/b:9b1615eed6] :eek It was for a good cause, though. The owner kicked me out after I got the following little present for all of you:

www.eriscorp.com/canterbury/HiKittens.mov

I have nothing spoilery to say about the experience (and really neither does anybody else, I'm afraid), but it was fun to see Amber again and she liked the pics I gave her from last year's Comic Con.

Everyone else is still in Santa Barbara, but I imagine they'll be along with their stories later on. :)
