I actually just wanted to post that on the UK aol site there's a "thing" about SMG. Yeah, it's a thing. But you know, not so much. Heh.

Anyway, there's a Buffy quiz that's so easy I think someone's dog wrote it. With their ass. And then there's pics of the cast (including Oz I might add. oh the UK, you're so up to date, sigh) with a little checklist on the side, including "fanciability".

Willow's fanciability is "growing", apparently. And it makes reference to her becoming a "lesbian icon". Naturally, in my persona as [b:6093ef58b8] Most Bitter Lesbian in the known World[/b:6093ef58b8] I gave a short huffy sigh and though yeah, another lesbian icon for us to worship and then grieve over. Bah.

But hey, less of that depressing talk. I could do with some cheering up. And I'm crap at thinking of questions. But you know, that idea of a "lesbian icon" kind of got me thinking. Who's yours?

Seriously. My friends are my "lesbian icons." Willow and Tara were the first media representations that I took totally to heart. Don't think I'll be doing a whole lot of that in the future, 'least not for a long while. kd lang and Melissa Etheridge were the two most visible, or rather, only visible lesbian icons I had in high school, and they meant quite a bit. I guess I'll always have a fondness for both of them in that sense.

On a totally other note, don't make me go to work, mom. I can't. I sick. *weak, pathetic cough*

You know, I'm trying to rack my brains to think of a lesbian icon. But I'm ashamed to say I really can't think of one. My first lesbian icons were Xena and Gabrielle (yeah I know...not proven lesbians, but...), I was about 14 I guess and I read alot of fan fic, most of it was ber and that was the first stories I read about love and sex between two women. I could sit and read for hours, I was very captivated by it. Then they killed Xena, but it was also around that time I first saw New Moon Rising. Soon I had two new icons to look up to, Will and Tara. Then became a Kitten, and my icons changed again. I was (and still am) very confused about the whole sexuality thing, but being on the Kitten board and talking to other Kittens have helped me understand. So now I can only say that my lesbian icons, are you guys...

As for me the lesbian icon that comes to my mind is Ellen. I was still at the early stages of feeling "different", but not knowing it might be because I was gay. As I watched her show (when her character came-out), I started to wonder about myself, so for that I would have to pick her.
