It's Phina Oruche Wednesday MKF!

Ah yes. The [b:defde34cbb] lovely[/b:defde34cbb] Phina Oruche, if I might say so.

And the reason for my love of all things that only appear in three episodes of the show? Weeeeelll...I've been doing a retrospective over the last few days or so and going back through the early seasons of Buffy, I noticed some great little cameos. I'm not saying that I like saying "I'm Kendraaaa de Vampiya Slaya" a lot, but hey, a girl's got to make her own fun. And sometimes that involves fake accents. Oh yes. ;)

Alrighty then, given that I'm missing Willow and Tara horribly, and that I've already trawled through Seasons 4 - 6 (except the horrid episodes) and laughed and cried and shouted obscenities...oh dear, get on with it....

So yes, in my little retrospective I've been marveling at the characters they had as little cameos. Sunday, for example, always confused me. Should have been a bigger part. Great bitchy vampire.

What characters did you like that were in a cameo role in the show? Just wonderin'.

And um, I love Willow and Tara...but I'm sorry this question isn't about them.

Cousin Beth!!!

And I'm done. :)

Ah yes sunday was awesome. "We have got to kill some cooler people." LOL. I liked Julia Lee in Lie to Me, Anne, and two S2 Angel episodes. Liked the continuity in that. Plus, it was an interesting character. I also liked Eric Saiet as Dalton in What's my Line I and Surprise. He had some good scene's with Spike and Dru threatening to kill him.

Oh yes Cousin Beth, she has got to be one of my favourites, her hair was so tight she was in danger of ripping her own head off, and I love hearing such a nice proper girl saying bitch. Of course she hurt Tara, but it ended perfectly with Tara giving her the best smirk on BtVS and tv in general ever, only to be rivalled by 2 other great Tara smirks, but hum, that's another thread I guess.

Another favourite cameo of mine, in this case, one ep guest star, would be Clea DuVall in Out of Mind, Out of Sight (aka Invisible Girl).
I cannot think of any others really as that is the only non WT epsiode that comes to mind, but could I nominate one of Glory's minions? I really like Jinx, and of course there is always Clem. :love
But they are in too many eps I guess.

Nicole Bilderback. The only Asian character (I think) ever on Buffy who was the first victim of the Master's contraption in The Wish. She was also in Can't Hardly Wait (the one who broke up with her boyfriend and was ready to have sex with whomever) and Bring it On (Whitney) and she played Brin for a few episodes of Dark Angel. I guess it's more the actress than the character that I like, since the character probably didn't even have a name. :grin

[b:620a35825c] edited[/b:620a35825c]: Yeah, Dr. G, I forgot about Clea Duvall. I just saw that episode the other day actually. Happened to walk into my friend's apartment just as it came on korean tv. First time I'd seen it. First 1st season episode I'd seen in awhile. Quite a contrast to later seasons.

3 more full days before I fly back to the states.

Thanks. It's taken years of preparation. Or um, somethin'...

Anyway, I also wanted to post the new address of my website. I have done very little to make this as attractive as it is. I owe all of [b:9c4e816078] that[/b:9c4e816078] to Liz. Who is now my bitch. Or um, am I hers...I dunno ;)

So, if you want to go looksee, please, be my guest. :)

It would have been fun if Larry had not died and became a vampire like Harmony. He was a fun character that started out pretty one dimensional and then his coming out to Xander was totally hilarious.

As mention in previous posts, Sunday was a a great character that was killed of to soon as well.

I am off to visit Tommo's new site!

Aw shucks :blush . I've never been someone's bitch before :grin . Okay I take that back, yahoo likes to do a number on me every once in a while :lol .

I think the character that I didn't really like but could have lasted a few episodes, instead of shoving everything into one, was Ted, John Ritter. He was just so evil and I feel like if they had him in like half the season then we could have gotten to like him and then to hate him.

Have a great Wednesday Kitties. :love

Jomarch beat me to it - Larry was a great character, Buffy's only gayboy (other than Andrew who I simply don't count).

I really wish they'd used him more. Well, there's always alterante universes where characters survive. Like, say, Sidestep... ;)

Well, since Sunday and Clea Duvall have already been mentioned . . . I really liked Lydia and Nigel from the Council of Watchers in Checkpoint and always wished they had been in more episodes. Especially Lydia. I love that she did her thesis or whatever about Spike.

And this is probably cheating, but I'm also going to pick Erika Amato, the lead singer from Velvet Chain. They are the band playing at the Bronze in Never Kill a Boy when Buffy is dancing with Owen a.k.a. the Riley-prototype-boy. I'm picking Erika b/c she's just damn sexy, especially when she sings.

On a completely OT note, last night I had a dream that it was revealed that my country was actually being controlled by a benevolent dictator who only wanted us to believe we had a president and congress running things. After much digging, the New York Times discovered the identity of this benevolent, Wizard of Oz-like, dictator and it was our very own [b:a2c6127a66] Autumn[/b:a2c6127a66] :shock

Any kitties wanna take a crack at interpreting my dream? (NoveltyAct?) I think it means I spend way way way too much time here.

iam with dumbsaint, that mummy hand was soooo cool, i wonder if i could get one and set in loose on my brother.

also thought that one of glorys minions, it was a female and possible jinkses wife or something, was cool, she had a conversation with ben and was moaning about how he had ruined glorys top and it was going to be a devil to - repare. :) tickled me that one.

Hm. I liked lots of them, actually. Larry and Invisible Girl are just two, but one I really really missed was [i:a0c2504f42]Michael the Goth Boy[/i:a0c2504f42]. Fortunately, he's alive and well (pretty much) in a "No More" a fanfic at the Pens. What's more, he's a pal to Tara!

The warlock that was with Willow and Amy in Gingerbread. What the hell happened to him?

And Olivia, because it was sweet with her and Giles.

I'd pick Sunday and Invisible Girl (Clea Duvall)...Interesting fact: Clea and the girl who played Sunday starred together in the movie "But I'm A Cheerleader". Has anyone else made that connection? Her character in the movie was the dark, goth girl Sinead.
Thought I'd throw that out there for the kitties! :grin

Nicole Bilderback is simply called "Cordette #1" in The Wish. Ah, Can't Hardly Wait, a.k.a. The Buffy Alumni movie. Not only does it have Seth Green and the Goddess Amber, though her big scene was cut(damn MPAA), but it also has Jessie from WTTH(another two-shot character I liked), Pete from Beauty and the Beasts, Jack from The Zeppo, Marcie(The invisible girl) from Invisible Girl, Veruca from early S4, and Owen from Never Kill A Boy on the First Date. And speaking of But I'm A Cheerleader, Joel Michaely is X-Phile #1(Geoff) in Can't Hardly Wait.

I'm going to weigh in with Megan Gray (Sandy) and a little story.

A coworker of mine found out I was writing about the show and told me her best friend's daughter was on Buffy in a small role. She was kissed or licked or something by another girl and then was never seen again.

So, being the fanatic I am, I immediately said, "Oh, that was Sandy. She was licked by Willow in season two and she was seen again in two more episodes in season five and is actually well remembered for her small but pivotal role."

Needless to say my coworker was blown away. I looked up the IMDB link for Megan and sent it to her.

I agree with others above that one of the strong points of this show has been that they continue to use the same extras and bit players to form a sense of community and continuity. Danny Strong being the best example of this, as he was always there even in season one.

My two favorite short-term/one-shot characters would have to both be villains.

#1 Doc
#2 Sweet

They were both just so fabulous. What can I say? I have a thing for musical theater veterans.

Hey y'all hope everyone's having a good week :)

I think my fave has got to be Hallie, she just made me laugh so much. Especially in Older and further Away when she couldn't leave the house 'cos of her own curse.

And technically not an extra or waht-not but I love Harmony, she's just so dumb and non-evvil vampire-y. I miss her.

Phina Oruche!

God, was there ever a more wonderful name to say out loud? I don't think so.

Problem is, I'm sure there are a whole host of splendid cameo appearances to marvel at, but I just can't get past lovely Scouse Phina.

Does that make me a bad kitten?
