RE: "Witchblade"

Yeah, that bitch was...well, a bitch (and probably psycho all things considered) and I'm not sorry she lost her head. But the show has been generally very gay-positive. With an even-handed approach, I myself don't mind an occaisional gay villain.

And I'm still kinda hoping Sarah will turn out to be bi.

Meanwhile, it occurs to me that the first quality show that includes a full-on, erotic and real lesbian relationship among regulars is likely to garnish really huge ratings. Controversy? Yeah--which is another way of saying "publicity." Call me naive ([i:3b692583c5]yeah, yeah go ahead[/i:3b692583c5]) but I've hope somebody somewhere will take the chance.

RE: Witchblade.

I would not be surprised to see them explore Sara's sexuality a bit.

But the other chick, the evil now dead one, actually did not strike me as thought she was coming on to Sara, only trying to intimidate or shock her. After all Ken Irons had her chained up to his table for a little erotic escapades.

Plus Irons himself was killed and it has been strongly hinted that he was bi. A dossier on him had pitures of "suspected sexual partners". Sara was there, though she did not sleep with him, and there were some guys among the women.

Sara's partner Danny Woo has admitted to finding Tommy Lee hot, even though he is married with kids (Danny, not Tommy Lee). It was already mentioned that Sara made her new (then) partner Jake feel like an idiot for acting all homophobic.

Like Zahir said so far the show has tried to be even handed. We will wait and see.

Ratings wise is was a huge success for TNT. Last season it was pulling in great numbers for genre show and it was beating "Angel" which was in the same time slot. I remember thinking "I wish Buffy was getting those numbers", you back when I actually cared about "Buffy".

Ok, I am done talking about Witchblade this week. I promise. ;)

Never watched either of these shows, but in 'At Home With The Braithwaites', but wasn't one of the daughters a lesbian?
And what about 'Night and Day'? Though their storylines are so OTT and melodramatic, I'm sure that any lesbian character would end up being crazy to fit in with the rest of the cast...

I always liked whatsherface and whatshername from Playing the Field.

Shame on me, I love that show, but for the life of me I just can't remember their names :blush

Dammit - can anyone help me out?

They ended up happy and together, although they did walk away from the Castlefield Blues.

Maybe lesbians can't be happy and together AND play football on UK TV.

Hmmph.

Edited to add - Yeah, [b:9ef9b8fea6] Tyche[/b:9ef9b8fea6], Virginia was the lesbian in At Home with the Braithwaites.

I really liked her, she was cool - but she did try to commit suicide.

i liked Virginia, too, she made me laugh. i did NOT like her girlfriend, though.
about the Bad Girls thing, they did show a happy ending (though it isn't for sure, yet) for Cassy and her girlfriend, (you know, the one with the husband and kids, heh) letting them get out of prison, no less.
though the absolutely gorgeous shaz, i think, dies (well, it's pretty obvious anyway). i heard somewhere that she hates london so much that she's going to live 'up north'. though i thought 'down south' sounded more appropriate (like that last scene of xena, heh heh, **i hear they're in need of a girl with a chakrum** :lol )
sorry for this long post that probably didn't help anyone in the slightest, but, i felt the need to share.

I think what I find interesting is that Bianca on All My Children (watched a little of the soap, but mainly my mother watches it) she is the lonely put-up lesbian. That girl can't keep a love interest (ie all the girls she likes either die or leave)! And god forbid she actually gets to kiss someone on the show, which I know will probably never happen on screen.

Which brings me to Della and Binnie. I used to love Eastenders, and for a soap at least these characters were allowed to kiss, be seen in bed, or in other words, act like any other couple on the show. With this in mind, it goes to show how British tv is a lot more open with showing gay affection between characters than the US.

And I too am looking forward to Wimbeldon, but I hope on the women's side it doesn't come down to Venus v. Serena because they never seem to go all out being sisters (ie it never seems like a "true" final).

Hmm... not a true match? Suppose you're right... I hope Venus makes it, then... she's my favorite of the 2 (and there's no reason why!) :)

Hmm, lets see how many i can remember.
Well, Willow and Tara, obviously;)
Shaz and Denny - Bad Girls. Oh i love these two! I hope Shaz doesn't die:(
Karen and Kelly - Family Affairs. Started watching this at just the right time. Might just be me, but i think Kelly is kinda hot... heh.:D (And isn't Karen married to Matt?)
Kelly and Maggie - Family Affairs. Didn't last.
Cassy and Rochine (sp?) - Bad Girls. I didn't think these two were going to get a happy ending, but aparently they have:D
Helen and Nikki - Bad Girls. Took them forever to get together and they made a perfect couple.
Jessica and Katie - Once and again. I don't know much, if anything about this, but i heard they got together in the end.
Zoe and Charity - Emmerdale. I don't actually watch the soap, but my parents were happy to tell me how horrible seeing them kiss was. :D Fun.
Justin and Oliver - Absolutely Fabulous. I loved that show!
Tom Brisly - Grange Hill. Oh you remember him. The art teacher!
Jack McPhee - Dawnson's Creek.
Ethan Brody - Dawnson's Creek.
Ellen Morgan - Ellen. Ellen DeGeneres is a God.:D
Dr. Kim Legaspi - ER. I didn't really like her.
Dr. Kerry Weaver - She got together with Legaspi but it ended badly. Poor Kerry. (She's with that firefighter now, oh what's her name....)
Carol and Susan - Friend. These two always make me laugh:D
Then there is pretty much everyone from Queer As Folk (UK and US)
Leon Carp - Rosanne
Nancy Bartlett - Rosanne
Will Truman - Will and Grace
Jack McFarland - Will and Grace
Larry and Joe - Will and Grace

Okay, that's all i got. If i think any more, my head's gonna explode;)

oh christ, how could i forget oliver and justin! i watched that show [b:c172a6c97a] religiously![/b:c172a6c97a] and ellen, i agree, ellen degeneres IS a god.
thank you for reminding me of these, ginner.

i personally can see miranda from sex and the city having issues with gaydom....but maybe my mind's warped 'cos i like her.:grin

jeez, considering i make a mental note of all the lesbos on tv, i would have thought i'd be ready with names when someone actually wanted them.

edited to add: woop woop! talking about what i like best *coughcough*lesbos*cough* made me a flaming o!

Yep, Della was the hairdresser and Binnie was someone she met at a rave and ended up in bed with. I always remember Binnie being in the "Kaff" one episode and they were having a problem with their plumbing. I was all prepared for the cliched "Lesbian who is good with tools and stuff" to rear its head. Never did though. Shame. I quite fancied Binnie. Heh.

Great stuff posted today. :)

I am a Mega-Witch. Um, apparently.

i think that this should be an ongoing thread...

i had Zoe Tate as MLOTW the other week but she seems to have recovered after spending a morning having tea with seth.
Now i think it is a bit of a tie for this week..between shaz (i've got mushrooms) and Denny (i'm not leaving her again..but get me out of here before i die ) Blood.....

you just knew it was going to be tragic when Denny and Shaz kept insisting they were together forever.

Karen will be my next bet for MLOTW...as i'm sure that now, (after an incredibly long drawn out realisation that she DOES love Kelly)...Kelly will probably die in childbirth.....Maybe i'm getting too cynical here.....Nahhh...

Re: bad girls - Cassie's girlfriend is Roisn (a luvily Irish name!) The season finale airs here tonight, so I'll be settling in with a bottle of vino to watch it while I record the first ep of the last season of X files to watch later.

Have only started watching ER recently, so wasn't around for the Kerry & Kim relationship. I must say I like the Sandy Lopez character. She's so little and fiery!

Okay, this is cheating. But Adele on the UK edition of 'Big Brother 3' is bisexual and not dead yet. She's also the only really likeable person in there right now, so go her.

Tyche, I'll gladly join you in the cheat, heh, the first edition of BB in the Netherlands was won by a straight guy, the second was won by a bisexual woman and the third and last was won by a lesbian, and a yummie one at that, lovely smokey voice, but I digress. :grin

i should have posted this before, sorry, but at the exact moment when shaz and denny shoved a big ol' lump of blue tack in the lock, you just [b:a14281a181] knew[/b:a14281a181] it was going to turn out horribly.

i thought it was pretty funny how denny said 'i'm never gonna leave you' and then a few minutes later when they bash through the door, its 'c'mon, shaz, right, that's it, i'm going!'
(and what's the bet that atkins has got the gun?)

isn't there a lesbian in Ally McBeal? or is it an actress? or did i just imagine the whole thing?

I was talking today about the abominable lack of crazee lesbitarians currently in the redmond soaps (Hollyoaks and Brookie). Not since that fab storyline where shelly the stalker lesbian slept with lindsey then cheated on her with her mother.... only on brookie (and maybe trishas greatest love rat confessions:) )

Its a strange state of affars to have none in either soap for so long, so im keeping my eyes peeled for signs of charecters turning to the dark side of crazee lesbitarianism.
Psycho laura is the most obvious in a single white female way.
