It's Tara makes the best pancakes Tuesday MKF

Postby AutumnT » Mon Jun 24, 2002 10:58 pm

OK, so the title is a given, but this is really about bloopers. While watching [i:776736288e] Entropy[/i:776736288e] I noticed that during the scene where Buffy is making Dawn breakfast she puts pancakes on Dawn's plate. No discussion over funny shapes or rounds. But now we know why. Buffy's pancakes are highly substandard. When Dawn finally sits and we see her plate the pancakes have completely disappeared. Much like Buffy's common sense all of season 6.

So, what other bloopers have you spotted. Well, besides the famous "hey look there is the boom mike guy" in [i:776736288e] This Year's Girl[/i:776736288e].

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I noticed that the cardigan that both Willow and Tara wear in New Moon Rising was actually Buffy's and torn apart by Kathy in ep 2 of season 4.

Oh we used to have a nitpick thread, I remember, cuz I started it heh heh, I discovered a nitpick you see and of course I wanted to share my discovery, seeing as I am always last to notice little WT moments/touches. Anyway, in IWMTLY when Xander is fixing the windows in the Bronze it is night outside, when clearly it was a bright and sunnyday just moments before and right after when Buffy leaves Xander to go home to find Joyce dead.

Well as for daily chat business, hmm, I have a few days off and the sun is *still* shining, the world must be about to end. :p

No the world is not going to end. I hereby forbid it. It can end on the 9th of August. I'm going to see Indigo Girls in concert on the 8th, so there'll be no world ending - okay? ;)

I can't remember noticing any bloopers, but then I can be a tad obtuse. I tend to get really engrossed in what I'm watching, so much so that I tend not to see the little details. Until its pointed out to me, and then I say "ohhhh! yeah that's obvious!"

I usually miss all of those too.

I saw the Indigo Girls a couple years back, freaking great show. And I saw the Who from the 8th row, so I have been to really-really good concerts. We were supposed to go last year but my son got really sick and we could make it. I had a friend scalp the tickets. We want to go see them again soon.

Other than that, I have to put Shadow-Earth games up for sale. :(
This year alone it has cost me more money than it's made. So I am chopping it up and offering it to other game companies. I am retaining the rights to my Witch book and I am letting my biz partner hold on to the rights of his Celts book. I already sold part of it to one company, hopefully will learn more about the other sale by end of July.
I still own www.shadow-earth.com, it just doesn't go anywhere now.

Damn. Been a real crappy year.

When Tara comes to the house in OAFA her gift is in one hand, and when she goes to hug Buffy it mysteriously switches sides.

Does Amber bumping into the beam during her dance in OMWF count as a "blooper"? That moment is priceless.

"Inca Mummy Girl" is on FX right now. It's been ages since I watched it, and I can't believe how gorgeous Aly looks, even in white overalls and a funny hat.

Well, this isn't really a blooper either, more of a general problem with drinks on tv, but I'm pretty sure that all those times that Buffy and Willow are drinking mochas, there isn't really any mocha in those mocha cups.

Also, just watched "Superstar" on tape the other night, and when Buffy pours a whole ton of sugar into Jonathan's coffee...again, I'm not thinking there's any coffee in there. Just sugar.

I'm sure everyone noticed this and then said, "I want one of those!". In The Replacement Anya's answering machine plays the exact part of the message Xander wants to hear. Superb. You never have to listen to your friends moaning about their work mates again, it would jump straight to "meet you in the pub at nine."

And again I say, I want one of those.

It is indeed! I rewind and watch this about five times everytime I watch the show. It is just too darn cute!

I am very jealous of anyone who is going to see Indigo Girls! I saw them once at Lilith Fair and they were awesome. Have fun all who are going. :)

Well when I go see them it'll be here in Dublin, Ireland. The venue holds about 300 I think, so it'll be nice and cosy. And I'll be there early so I can get to stand near Emily's side of the stage.

I see Venus Williams beat that poor British girl 6-1 6-1, she must have thought she was having a nightmare when she heard she was up against her in the first round.

I'm not much for spotting bloopers, but I did see something in OAFA when they were fighting the demon in the house. Right before Buffy impales the demon (against the wall) with the sword, methinks mesaw a teeeny mark where the sword was supposed to go, then the scene changes to s'more fighting, then SLICE...she give it to him at that same place on the wall... ok, back to work I go...

Ugh, Tim, I'm sorry to hear that. I have a friend who's been working on a sci-fi RPG for a while now, (with some minor contributions from me), he's just now starting to sell it. It's a tough endeavor.

Meanwhile, I have a wretched, wretched cold, my cerebral cortex has entirely turned to snot. And my net connection at home has been down for two weeks now, they've sent four guys to come fix it, and they still can't make it go. I need a net connection at home! Gah.

OOH bloopers, one of my fave subjects, apart from the obvious ones ;) )

In Entropy, when willow and tara are sitting at the table in the coffee house, they are each drinking a mocha (i think thats what its called!!!) then anya arrives, with no drink and procceds with the whole "what kinda lesbians are you speech"
As she gets up to go, she picks up willows drink and walks off as if she had arrived with it.
Iam sure that this is a blooper, what do you guys think.

And the whole beam in OMWF is the best, ambers such a pro :)

Hummm can't think of any bloopers offhand other than the MTV ones that don't count, even if it's cute to hear them all swear. But I am happy as I fiannly got almost 3 minutes of dailies (sp?) from Prophecy Girl and they are cool.

ooh, i got bloopers.

in HUSH, when Spike picks up his mug o' blood fr the fridge it's really full but when he begins to drink it, he finishes it in a split second. now that was fast drinking! lol.

in Family, when the demon smacks Tara on her cheek, she falls on her right but then after Dad Maclay arrives, we see Tara lying on her left. heh.heh.

oh, i swear i saw Dawn laugh right after Xander faints in Tabula Rasa.

of course we all know abt Tara in Superstar, we see her lying on her left side but when Willow places a face towel on her head, she's lying on her back. lol.

i got one more but it eludes me rt now. TTFN. peace kitties! ;)

Aww, feel better Len, my little butter bean. And good luck getting up (heh... I'm a perv) and running back home. I'm still trying to get my internet connection in the new pad working, too. Very frustrating. Currently that process is being delayed due to false advertizing.

Can somebody get me some Angry Tara Glare? I'm fresh out and it always gives me such a happy.

In This Years Girl, when Buffy and Faith are having their knock down-drag out fight in Buffys house, Buffy throws Faith across the table knocking EVERYTHING off the table. A couple of seconds later, they cut back to the table and the tablecloth is back on along with some dishes and pieces of fruit.

In Listening to Fear, Willow mentions the Tunguska meteor explosion in Russia saying that it took place in 1917. It actually occurred in 1908; the Russian Revolution started in 1917. (OK, so Im anal when it comes to history and dates).

PS: Happy Birthday Eek!

Yes the beam bump counts, and yes it is funny. I pointed it out to some friends the other night and they laughed. This: [quote:9f899f89d1][b:9f899f89d1][i:9f899f89d1]Quote:[/i:9f899f89d1][/b:9f899f89d1]

[i:2ea0d825d5] *hands Julia a nice big bag of angry Tara glare, as her own cup runneth over today*[/i:2ea0d825d5]

I was going to say the Spike thing in [b:2ea0d825d5] Hush[/b:2ea0d825d5] as well. Pisses me off every single time I watch it. Which is quite a lot. Ahem.

Emma told me of one the other night which she swears she's posted on here before...heh, but she's feeling aggrieved because nobody noticed it. ;)

If you've got the Season 4 DVDs, just go and check [b:2ea0d825d5] Who Are You[/b:2ea0d825d5]. The scene you're looking for is when Giles, Tara, Willow and Faith/Buffy/whocaresit'sElizainnicepants pull up outside the church in their armoured van. Willow springs from the truck and says her line, then the security guy answers her. And then Willow says something else. But Aly's lips [b:2ea0d825d5] do not move[/b:2ea0d825d5]. It's so funny.

Off you pop and watch it then. ;)

Yeah seems to me at the end of Seeing Red, when Willow says "Think they're making up?" then Tara says "I hope so. That's the best part." Definetly seems to have been looped in later, just always looks wrong to me. But since I am not at home and can't check it for sure, I am just blathering on for no particular reason. Other than ya know, trying to avoid work.

Where the Wild Things Are on the DVDs.. (actually there are a lot of bloopers on the season 4 DVDs, because of the widescreen framesize; I commented on that in the DVD thread):

Ok, there are Willow, Tara and Giles sitting after the table went flying across the room after they did the spell for the kids in the Lowel House. It's the shot from above, and you see in the left upper corner some guy in shorts and sneakers, probably of the crew. To funny.

I'm avoiding work, too.

This is a sensitive one, but what about Willow's shirt in Seeing Red and then again at the beginning of Villains? If you watch consecutive shots, it's totally red, then kind of red, then practically white, then totally red again. W walks out of the house, and it's practically white. But in the Magic Box when she's getting her witchy infusion, it's all red again, but in a different way.

Okay, and blooper or not, it drives me crazy when everyone is trying to fix up the furniture and lamps and stuff at the end of Flooded (I think) after the fight. They're talking about how expensive it is, and Xander gives up on a coffee table which is like one IKEA screw away from being completely functional.

Postby TwiLightJoy » Tue Jun 25, 2002 6:23 am

My day is not of the happy thus far. Yesterday my gf's grandma went to the hospital in the morning (gf's aunt took her because she didn't want to bother us), when we were getting ready to head out the door to take my puter to the doctor, she got home. She's got torn ligaments in her right knee, so she's gotta be on crutches and stay off her feet for at least another day or two.

So I'm doing my share of the house stuff, which unfortunately means I have to scoop two extra cat-boxes which Grandma usually takes care of. Plus I get to do the laundry (not just MY laundry, but like towels and stuff). Plus I get to cook (this includes microwave anything and egg salad sandwiches ;) ). Hopefully I can help out, but it's kinda hard to do everything Grandma does since I work night shift, so there goes half my day. :( Bah.

In other news, Yay Buffy S2 DVDs! Also Boo coz I miss my puter and when I get her home I'll need to reinstall everything. But on the Yay side, it will work a lot better. And on the Boo side, my fic was on that machine ... and the hard drive will most likely be formatted. I only have a few paragraphs of the next chapter written, so I won't be losing much, but still. I tried to back it up onto a floppy but the file was too big. I was all ARGH and stuff. Um anyway, I'm very much rambling now so I will go away. Maybe I'll mow the lawn. Bye.

For a rather morbid one: [i:05ab5361a6] The Body[/i:05ab5361a6]. Yes, the paramedics leaving Buffy alone with Joyce's body has lots of dramatic impact...but, unfortunately, not a lot of sense. Only a doctor can actually declare someone dead; the EMT's would have loaded Joyce's body up on the gurney and proceeded to Sunnydale General, where the emergency room doc would probably have declared her dead-on-arrival.

On a side note...saw [i:05ab5361a6] School Hard[/i:05ab5361a6] this morning. Ahhh, classic Spike. Gaaaahh, those godawful striped tights Willow is wearing in the third act. :shock OMG, how Alyson could even stand to put those on and be filmed is beyond me. I hope they kicked in a little extra "hazard pay." Eeeessh!

Darn it, she's still cute though... :)

Yes, Mollyig, there really was a meteor explosion in Tunguska but Chris Carter gave his own peculiar spin on it. There was an interesting documentary on the Discovery Channel about what really happened. They even had some old footage showing interviews of people who had actually witnessed the event. Theres a pretty informative site on the internet if you want to check it out:

i actually have a bookfull, one of my friends bought it for me for my birthday, but one of my favourites is the fact no one can consistently get buffys bday right in season one.
in "i robot you jane" it flashes up twice on stage both times different and putting her in different years at school (im assuming the american grade system is similar to the english). In the episode where all nightmares come true when buffy dies, her year of birth is different again.
made me giggle.
