Willow/Tara Sims

DO NOT POST - Backup in Progress

Willow/Tara Sims

Postby Scout » Fri Jul 13, 2001 8:52 am

Edited by WillTara to link the threads.

This thread is the continuation of Cici's Your own W/T Family thread on The Kitten Board.. If you want to reply to posts from the original thread, just copy a quote from the post you want to reply to into your reply here.

For all of those who have seen the "Your Own W/T Family" thread on the main board, you know that some kitties have created a Willow/Tara family using "The Sims" computer game by Electronic Arts.

In addition to the many wonderful still images that they've created, some kitties have also started writing stories using caps from the game.

Since the original thread has grown rather large and since these images/stories really belong on the creative board, we've decided to move the Willow/Tara Sims material to this thread.

Wonko was the first brave soul to create a Willow/Tara Sims story and it's definitely worth a visit - A Sims Story in Words and Pictures. Let's hear it for Wonko!!

Please post all future Willow/Tara Sims items in this thread. Thanks!

Just hope that all the other posters read your post in the other forum.

Thanks. Actually your right, I guess the "Your own W/T family" Simstories belong here in the actual Fanfic section.

let's hope it everyone starts.

That's perfectly ok.

How to my question for the group.. Has anyone tried to put a W/T head on a childs body. Just to see if you can get W/T as children??

No animals in Sims... *sigh*

I mean, there are animals in Sims (fish, guinea pig etc.) but the ones that run around? No

yes, liking this a lot. it's great to have the visuals. this looks like a lot of fun.

not being sims-literate i'm wondering what the icons above some of the character's heads signify.

is it possible to control the movements of the sims enought to do an animation? lots of graphics viewing programs have a "slideshow" option that could be set for, say, 8fps to get a sort of primitive cartoon. also, do you have to buy the sims software or is it a web-based program? inscrutable minds want to know...

For houses, I understand that they go here:
c:\program files\maxis\the sims\userdata\houses\

For W/T children - neat idea, but as I understand it, the kids come premade (you're stuck with the ugly ones!). Anyone know of a way to customize the kids?

The diamond-shaped object indicates mood. Green to red as the mood worsens, which is why GODisTigger's person has a red diamond. Being dead puts you in a really bad mood!

In case anyone missed the great links posted in the other thread, some of the best Sims sites are:

The Sims Resource

The Sims Official Site

The Sims Hangout

They have downloads, cheat sheets, strategy guides, patches, etc.

About creating kids skins- I just looked it up. You can download SimShow v1.3 at the Sims Resource's download page (click here to go to the download page). It says there that with this program you can create kid-skins. Good luck!

Edited to add: or click here to immediately go to the download page.

I believe that on one of the sites you mentioned above. There is a patch to give you more control over creating/recreating people. I'll search and post the link later.

Also, I'm not to sure about the other Sim games. But there could be a cat in simFarm or something. We should sugest to EA the inclusion of a kitty.

Now all we have to do is figure out with one of us Kitties it would be. I'm going for Xita.

I think my Sims have some problems

I have two houses, one for my B/W obsession and the other for W/T. Almost everytime I have them *cough* play in bed *cough* Willow will always cheer up Buffy afterwords. And for Willow and Tara, Tara will almost always end up slapping Willow after, you know, they are done.
It making me wonder about their supposed happy and healthy relationship.

Also what is up with them barking like dogs?? It makes me have... images.

So I was actually wondering if this happens to other people or am just one of those lucky people with strange sims???

LOL, it wasn't the dead part that put them in such a bad mood, it was because I fenced them in with no food, bathroom and left the radio on so they couldn't sleep. They actually started attacking one another. Slaps, insults, all-out brawls. At least the pool is a much calmer, cleaner and quicker death, but they wouldn't get in. (and if you are wondering why I am killing them, I realized that it just wouldn't be Sunnydale without a graveyard and to have a graveyard you need graves.)

Speaking of which:

You'll have to write a book - "101 Ways to Kill a Sims."

Just found out something that I didn't know. It seems that when you throw a party, there is the chance of an "uninvited guest" showing up.

Unexpected Guest

Looks like Anya is a fan

Well, it looks like W/T have gotten themselves a French Maid. Hmm. wonder what's going to come next????

An I couldn't quitye make out the whole pic ubove the Chessboard. It looks fdamiliar. Maybe I'll recognize it when I lighten it up a little.

As always, very good pics.

Scullio: It sounds like you have a very strange Sims neighborhood. Maybe you need a patch!

GODisTigger: Looks like Drew Carey paid the girls a visit. Better watch Anya; she's sure to start flirting with him (ugh!).

BTW, are you able to help WillowsPuppy with her question about how to find a house once you've extracted it into the house folder? I haven't imported houses/furniture yet, so I'm not sure how that works.

In the Neighborhood screen, try clicking on the Import Family button.

I've had SIMS that throw up after they are done playing in bed. What is THAT about?
And as for the barking, whenever W/T are on their way to play, I always picture Willow saying to Tara, "That's right puppy, Willow's gonna make ya BARK."

So did Willow make Tara bark then? Heh heh...

While trying to think of an idea for a new SimsFic (well, I have one already but I mean a good idea) I decided to take a few more pics. Here we have:

Willow, Tara and MKF

and

Willow overcomes a fear.

I reccommend a site called KillerSims btw, http://www.killersims.com Lots of cool stuff (including pets! )

Tried .... and failed miserably ..... I only suceeded in letting Willow and Tara move in one of the already existing houses .... there seems to be no way to change the houses - at least I couldn't find it .... aside from that: Is it possible to "cheat" your family into a house they can't afford ? I downloaded an expensive house because I wanted them to have everything (yeah, I cheat often and I enjoy it ) and now - aside from not being able to insert the house at all - I'm getting the feeling that it's pointless alltogether - because you only have 20000 Dollars and can't buy an expensive house - the money cheat doesn't seem to be useful in that regard ..... I need professional "The Sims" help - I'm desperate ! ....
