Willow's New Dawn

Paring: Willow/Tara
Summary: Willow reflects on her choice.

Notes: Wrote this in my lunch break at work today.
Willow awoke to the sun streaming in through the gap in the curtains; a new day had dawned and it felt good. It didn’t take long for her to notice the arm wrapped around her waist, she turned her head to she a beautiful blonde fast asleep next to her.
Willow smiled at the sleeping young girl beside her, her friend, no girlfriend and her lover. The thought of their lovemaking last night sent a warm glow through her body; she had given herself totally to this shy blonde. Yes they had made love before but this time was different, Willow had made love to Tara for the first time knowing that she was truly with the one she loved.
Willow had been faced with a choice over the past couple of days; she had to decide between her ex boyfriend and the new love in her life Tara. She had made the choice with her heart and with the one person she knew she was in love with. She had chosen Tara.
Willow pushed all thoughts of Oz from her mind; she just wanted to gaze at the radiant beauty beside her. She traced every line and curve of her face down to her neck noting the soft smooth skin that felt so warm to the touch. Willow stopped for a moment as her lover moved her head slightly allowing a few strands of hair to cover her face.
"Goddess." Willow breathed. "She is so beautiful.”
Willow watched as Tara wrinkled her nose a little. ‘I wonder what she’s thinking about.’ She thought to herself. At that moment she saw a faint smile appear on her lover’s lips, and Willow’s heart skipped a beat. She could feel another warm glow surge through her; Tara had the sweetest smile she had ever seen. It melted her heart everytime she saw it and now was no different.
Willow felt that she was quite possibly the happiest person on earth right now, she was with the person she loved. Every part of her felt so alive, she smiled warmly at this girl who had made her feel this way, just wishing that this moment would last forever.
For Willow this was a new dawn, the first day of her new life. A life she wanted to share with the only person in the world she felt truly loved her. Willow wanted to share everything with Tara, her heart, mind, body and soul; they belonged to this beautiful shy blonde girl. Willow knew in her heart that Tara loved her, she had seen it so many times in her eyes. Everytime Tara looked at her, she could feel it.
Willow reached over and carefully kissed her lover on the lips, she paused a moment and carefully checked to see if Tara was still asleep. Happy that that she had not awakened her Willow allowed herself a little smile. She wanted everyday to be like this, to wake in the arms of her lover and know that true happiness could exist.
“I love you.” She whispered to the sleeping blonde. “With all my heart and soul, I love you Tara.”
Willow sighed, and she closed her eyes for a moment. She knew it wouldn’t be long before Tara awoke and then they could begin the day and this new life together.
