That's a beautiful pic of Amber.

I've never heard of that mag before but I did find the website of the magazine, http://www.aumag.org/ , it's under construction right now, so there isn't much there, it's called America's AIDS Magazine.

My friend got it for me at his gay/straight alliance meetings that take place at our AIDS info center. I screamed in the middle of the cafeteria when he gave it to me. It's really adorable..has some GREAT shots of Amber and the W/T pic from OMWF. It also talks about Amber's view on AIDS/Sex/ect. I will type it up tonight if you guys want, but my scanner is broken so I can't scan the pics.

I know it's stated this way on e-bay but can I just remind everyone that because the magazine is about AIDS it does not necessarily make it a 'Gay' magazine. Remember that the highest number of folks today who contract HIV and AIDS are 'straight'.

Be happy, have fun...be safe.

You're right. I just went by the description but just went back and squinted to read the blurry small print on the cover. Still not sure what a&u stands for but perhaps it means Aids and You?

So far I'm the highest bidder...bid $6.50 for it like the sap I am. We'll see how it goes.

Just thought I'd mention that while the first mag I posted ends in 6 days with a current bid of $5 there is another one that ends in 2 days 17 hours with no bids yet starting at $3.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dl ... 1504579108

Let's keep the bidding info out of this thread, I fear it could get a bit competitive Also, bidding now will only drive the price higher, it's much too early!

okay, i'm so pissed off. since i work for an LGBT/HIV nonprofit, we get this magazine sent to us for free. this month i think i threw it out along with a glut of junk mail (it comes wrapped in black plastic, so you can't see who's on the cover). *sob* and i could have had my very own copy! this teaches me to open the mail from now on.

sigh....

Just an FYI, I spent all wknd looking for this mag. My Barnes & Noble said they don't carry it. The same is true for Borders. This may be regional, but for those in Orange County CA -- don't look there. I already did. lol

Check the local GLBT Centers ... it's where I'm heading next.

April, does anyone else in your office get the same magazines as you? When I was at DACOR, we'd get almost a dozen copies of some freebie trade magazines. They'd keep sending them to engineers who hadn't even been there for years.

Maybe there's another copy lurking around your building somewhere...

The website for this magazine (which is mentioned on the first page of this thread, I think), http://www.aumag.org , hasn't been updated since August, 2000, so don't hold your breath waiting for the site to have pics of Amber any time soon.

I'm going to see if I can *whangle* a subscription out of the company, and I have a friend who works for Lambda Online, so I'll see if I can get us some scans up A.S.A.P.!

e. is on the case!!

love,

e.
