Arena is a lad's mag. Like FHM, etc. How to be sensitive, yet studly, I think the saying goes. That sort of thing. Aly aside, give me a good music mag, any day - Mojo, Uncut, Guitar Player (for the really sad amongst us), though not Guitarist, 'cause it's now one long (and expensive) advert, grrrr

Q & As are amusing. I can deal with men's magazines. My girlfriend reads all kinds of men's magazines; I read them when there's nothing new in the house.

What`s next for American Pie and Buffy`s Alyson Hannigan?

Kissing witches, dating rock stars and
fondling flutes, there isn`t much 27-
year-old Alyson Hannigan is afraid of.
And things are going to get even more
interesting in the next few months for
Buffy`s bosom buddy...

Rumours from Buffy have it that we`ll
soon be seeing willow`s DARKER side.

AH. She`s doing things that she hasn`t
done before in the new series, but they
aren`t exactly evil, she`s just had a taste
of too much power. She sees this guy who`s
like a magical dealer and she gets really
high on magic. While she`s high ( on magic )
she crashes a car, and she thinks she might
have killed her friend Dawn. So now she`s
sober and trying to do things without the
magic.

What do you make of Willow`s progression
through the series?

AH. She`s evolved more than any other
character on the show. They`ve allowed
her to grow so much.

Were you worried about her intimate
on-screen relationship with Tara?

AH. Not really. I like the way the characters
and the relationship develop together.
I don`t remember Joss Whedon saying,
"You`re going to have a special friend
and she`s just going to be your friend".
And it was just like "OK". I don`t actually
remember the whole, "OK" you girls
are now having a relationship thing," it
was just apparent from the way they
were writing. But it`s not like it`s girl-
on-girl action.

So how different are you from the
characters you play?

AH. Well, I play the flute. Hahaha. It depends
on my mood. One of my friends coined it
best years ago when she said, "Willow is
just one of Alyson`s personalities."

You used to date Marilyn Manson`s
drummer, Ginger Fish. Did you live the
rock n roll lifestyle?

AH. I didn`t hang out with Marilyn that
much, but when i did they were very
articulate and polite. Marilyn`s very
witty. I know that sounds odd, I`d heard
the stories that they like to party and do
stuff, but they`re rock stars.

Was it nerve-racking appearing on the
Howard Stern Show to promote
American Pie 2?

AH. At the time, the police were trying to
question Tara[ Ried ] About one of her
friends [ US PR big-wig Lizzie Grubman ]
running over all these people in her car
and Tara had just broken up with [ MTV
jock ] Carson Daly. So we were let off the
hook. But i was nervous.

Was there any off-screen canoodling
between the cast members of AP2?

AH. Oh, no. Well, I mean... not for me. Most of
my scenes were with Jason and he`s the
loveliest guy, but he doesn`t... you know.

I`m sure he`s a lovely guy. He let you
stick a trumpet up his arse!

AH. I know. How funny was that? I just adore
him. I see him a lot at the gym these days.
He had to gain more weight for the
second movie because he`d lost all his fat.

How did everyone keep a straight face
during filming?

AH. It was just ridiculous. They couldn`t get
through a take without cracking up. I`m
sure the editor had quite a time.

Is it true that you want to hire a Winnebago
and travel around the states?

AH. Yeah. I`d go and visit all the really chessy
sites. Like, "Our city has the world`s biggest
thermometer" type places. I`ve also heard
that there`s a really big ball of yarn at some
truck stop somewhere. I find great amusement
that somebody actually thought, ' I`m going to
accumulate the biggest piece of yarn ever and
make a big ball and put it out on the highway.'

Almost forgot, there is A little blurb on Amber in FW magazine, has what looks to be a new pic (only 1 though). It's a short blurb but I only saw it as I was flipping through some mags at a 7-11, didn't buy it. I'm sure someone here will find it and post it.

What cover date? I had a look around but could only find the Feb 2002 which didn't seem to have the Q&A in.

It's a fashion/entertainment mag. I'd never seen or heard of it before but I usually flip through those types of mags looking to see if there's any Aly stuff in them. It was issue #28 so i guess it's not completely new. I'm in Canada so it might be just a Canadian mag but I couldn't say for sure.

I think I've seen most of those Q&A's in other magazines (I'm never sure if Alyson is giving the same answers or the mags just share it around). Very cool anyhow.

I really like the S6 promo shots as well. Is it just me or does Aly look a bit like Liz from Atomic Kitten (UK Girl Band)? Spooky coincidence that Liz is a Kitten and lists BTVS as her favorite TV program. Strange and unexpected,
