For 'Lost & Delirious' fans + a request for film help

Postby Sarah-B » Wed Jan 02, 2002 11:09 pm

First up, something I made....
For those who are fans of the lesbian romance/drama film 'Lost & Delirious' (starring Piper Perabo and Jessica Paré) that came out a few months ago, I've just finished making a 4 minute music video using scenes from the film, combined with the song 'Foolish Games' by Jewel. I love that song It's so sad, but i think it captures the spirit of the movie too. I worked hard on this clip, so hope you like it. To check it out, just visit my site here. (go to the film/TV section)

Secondly, would anyone here be interested in hosting a couple of lesbian short films for me? These are two really great little films (about 25 mins each) which few of you would have seen before, and which I just thought I might share with the board somehow.

One is an Australian comedy/drama called "Two girls and a baby", starring Claudia Karvan (who aussies will recognise from 'The Secret Life Of Us'). It's about a young couple trying to become mothers via IVF, and going through it for the first time. It's really funny in parts, but very sensitive and real too.

The second is called "Weeki Wachee Girls". It's a film about two teenaged girls spending the summer together, who are best friends, until one discovers the other kissing a girl. Suddenly she has to deal with her own mixed feelings about this, and decide whether to tell her friends parents, or be tolerant of her friends orientation. I thought it was pretty good too.

Both clips are about 50Mb each. Unfortunately i don't have enough space on my site to host them. So if y'all are interested, then I'm happy to upload them to someone else's server/site. feel free to write me anytime if anyone is interested or can help

Sarah-B.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful video. You matched the music to the clips perfectly. Have I mentioned it’s beautiful?

Thanks for sharing.

Well, now that came out a lot more lesbian than it sounded in my head.

Hi fell, I used Premiere to make it. But the final video uses divx 4.01 (make sure you have the latest version). You might also need to remove any older versions of divx, before installing the new one. hope that helps These codec thingies can be confusing, and sometimes they conflict with each other. there's a message board at www.divx.com that might help too.

First of all, loved the video (and did NOT expect that middle bit ).

Second, I had a problem with it too. I think it's an avi file, but saved with a .mpg extension. I had to rename the file before media player would open it.

Yep, it is (lol, how did you figure that out?). I thought they were one and the same (avi & mpg), but yeah, if anyone has probs playing it, then try changing the extension from .mpg to .avi
Thanks everyone for your replies!!

It looks to me, miss_spangles like there might be a whole lot of good stuff turn up for the Mardi Gras film festival this year. If Lost and Delirious isn't there Queerscreen just aint doing their job. And Kissing Jessica Stein looks way cool too. Guess that doesn't help if you aren't in Sydney.

I loved the movie L&D, and I loved your clip. I've bookmarked it so I can play it for my g/f when I get home -- she loved that movie as well.

Perfect song, perfect images. Great job!

Just a quick warning. The Divx 4.01 codec is totally incompatible with earlier versions so once installed you won't be able to play any Divx 3 or earlier videos without uninstalling it. I discovered this when someone sent me a divx4 video and suddenly my Buffy VCDs wouldn't play any more. Uninstalling the codec works fine and divx3 codec films will then play fine. You just have to remember to install/uninstall between films. It's a pain but c'est la vie.

How does one change an extension? When I tried to rename it, only the title could be changed.

go to: View >> Folder Options. Click the "View" tab and uncheck the box that corresponds to 'hide extensions for known file types'. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'. you would see that the file extension would be visible now and from there you could change/edit it. Hope this helps

Well, it helped to change the format (Thanks, Rona), but I still can't view the darn thing. Which is the appropo codec I need to download?

I'm downloading the clip now - wish me luck with this. I actually haven't seen 'Lost and delirious' - any ideas whether there are plans for it to go to DVD or vid?
Now to the Aussies - a little off topic but -did you know that 'Mulholland Drive' was coming out in Aus January 31st?!?
Lol, thank you to Sarah B, who helped me to find out THAT bit of information finally, by going through various links at her site *bows down at her feet for helping to find out information that HAD taken literally MONTHS to find!* Finally something makes it to the South Aussies though.

It never showed around here, so I haven't seen it either, and I've been trying to check the web site from time to time to see when it might be available on video.

It's out on DVD (not sure if that's US-only or what). Try the Lost and Delirious profile and click on "Buy Now". But you might want to also shop your local video store or ask about ordering it, especially for non-US in case it's region encoded. If that link doesn't work, try Lions Gate Films and look for the Lost and Delirious link (they moved the link on me once before).

I don't know whether you can order it for overseas through that web site, but I'm assuming it'll work for US kitties that have been anxiously waiting (and have DVD, which I don't ).

There's no mention of tapes yet, so I'm assuming they won't be available until later. I keep meaning to ask the video store if they know anything about it coming out on VHS (here in the US), and I'll try to let you know once I find out.quote:

hey everyone, you can also get it through Amazon.com. That's where I got it. (My DVD player is lucky enough to be 'region free' though, so I can't tell you which region it was for, as it's not something I usually worry about.)

Oh, and thanks again everyone for the replies about the clip

Okay, I tried this several times now, but for some reason, I only get to see the first 1 minute and 27 seconds...and after that it jumps to the last 1 second (which I really can't see) and it stops...anyone know another place where I can watch this?
