I was trying to go unspoiled watching this ep... I really was. *grumble*
Anyway, I love Willow's hair in this episode. She looks amazing. As for Tara ;_;... she looks amazing as always, but that look on her face... awww ;_;.

Basically, ALL relationships on Buffy are in a way unhealthy! Despite what Willow did to Tara in regards to the spell, I believe Willow absolutely loves Tara and eventually will sincerely apologise and truly be sorry and Tara will forgive Will. I love An/Xan together but Xan is still very dismissive of An, doesn't back her up in discussions but publicly repremands her. B/A were screwed up from day 1. Througout their 3 years together they had maybe one honest verbal exchange, they're both brooders who'd get angry and then refuse to confront what their issues were. Buffy/Riley started out as "healthy" but the writers realized Riley was soooo boring without some kind of edge they ended up making that ship look as twisted as anything. I guess W/Oz were pretty normal (well if you factor in the werewolf thing) but if Oz had stayed on the show, you can bet your ass their would have been complications.
The truth is "good" relationships are boring to watch. Why else do soap operas feature so much breaking up/making up (and "bad boys" like Spike who fall for "good girls" like Buffy are de rigeur)? Because of the entertainment value.
Having said this, I have believed from the beginning of the season Spike's "progress" would be 2 steps forward, one back; the season isn't half over and we still have at least one more year, so the writers wouldn't want to "cage" Spike's violent tendencies too soon. Just as we redemptionists can not ignore tonights' epi where Spike attempts to feed on a woman, the anti-redempts can't forget last week and Tabula Rosa. If Spike wasn't at some level confused about his vampire identity why on earth, when he finally realized he WAS a vamp didn't he try to bite Buffy or some other human? He had no idea he was chipped. Both incidences in both epis HAVE to be considered when trying to evalutate Spike's future.
Ok enough about B/S; God, I'm suddenly worried about Tara. Her scene with Dawn sounds so sweet, she's such the earth mother and I have a bad (hopefully just paranoid) feeling. Can someone hold my hand and assure me nothing bad is going to happen to her?

Just want to add, I love this board, and I love W/T and nothing anyone says about B/S will offend me to the point that I wouldn't post here or share any advance copies of epis I get with y'all.

Just for the record, I'm really not a "B/S shipper" in that I think it would be good for Buffy. I view the B/S interaction with a certain amount of clinical detachment, actually. I have to sheepishly confess that W/T is the only relationship on the show that touches me personally.

With regards to Willow and her magic bender with Amy at the Bronze. Willow comments to Amy, "I keep thinking there's gotta be someplace bigger than this." Is anyone else worried what the something bigger will be. Willow seems to have outgrown her current "drug", she seems bored with the magic she is doing now, it's too easy, no big thrill, no big high. She is now looking for something to get her to the next level, trying to get excited about something she is trying to get the high back, trying to get the life back into her. What is next, what is this something that will take Willow into the abtss that she has been standing at the edge of. How will this effect her friends, Tara. Who will get hurt and will Willow be hurt. She is in so much denial that she can't see straight. She misses Tara but in a way that seems almost purly for magic reasons, she misses having another magic person in the house. She doesn't seem to miss Tara for being the love of her life. Again Willow is blinded, magic is in complete control and her life with Tara and her life with her friends are in the background all suffering because Willow does not see what is right in front of her.

No, I read it as she misses Tara and is using magic to hide that fact. And the fact that it is not enough shows that nothing can give her the happiness in her life that she had with Tara. No amount of magic will give her that, even though she keeps tricking herself into believing that magic is the solution to everything.

hi. My first post here. I think there are several issues having read the smashed spoilers. First, it's about time she deratted amy! I mean, sheesh!If the rated Amy is in the show, it's gonna be used! Likewise, I think there are other little things to consider here, as much as I dislike the potential for disaster and a real loss of the Tara, much less the T/W relationship.
Remember that calling card that she got when offered the Vengence demon position that Anya used to have? She still hasn't used it. Leaves me wondering if it is something that Dawny will steal or Willow will use, or perhaps some nefarious thing will come from it.
I also dislike the notion of Tara in pain from Willow; as my partner put it "Willow is really being an a$$hole!" But at least she had the strength to get space. I just hope that before she kills all hope of reuniting with Tara, Willow wakes up, sobers up from this addiction to power, and stops being such a jerk. And the thing that strikes me here is that she lost Tara by acting out of Fear. She brought buffy back when she decided that it was too scary without Buffy, and more gave her a real power trip as well. And she did that, without really considering the consequences, just like usual. Willow's magic generally always has some consequence of pain or suffereing of mayhem. Combine this lack of taking responsibility and fear, put them in a person or place of power and VOILA! tabula rasa all over again.
Willow wants to do good, but she is trying to do it with darkest magick. And the power tripping is something usual with people;just look at the folks who forget where they came from and get snooty rich/politics/attitude. Taking them down a buncha pegs usually is the only thing that works. In this case Xander, Anya and Tara have been essentially doing most of the growing up, and Buffy, Spike and Willow haven't. Dawn, who is still a teen, is growing up too only this behavior is more normal at her age than in a 20 year old!
Even Giles realized that by his staying and being the adult figure, the rest of them would never grow and become strong enough on thier own. I just hope that it doesn't get outta hand before it's too late.

Nicole, we get a new ep on Nov.27th here in the States ("Wrecked" is the title), then if the pattern holds we'll get one more new ep sometime in December amongst re-runs, then all re-runs until late Jan., and All New Eps for Feb. Sweeps.

Do you think Willow was just joking when she says to Amy the rat, "you lonely, we need to get you a companion rat, one to love to play with to get attached to until one day they leave you for no good reason..." Even though Willow is in denial about her little problem she must realize those forgeting spells her wrong and that betraying Tara was a factor in why she left or is she so lost she really con't see the trees from the forest.

Question: wasn't this supposed to be the ep when Buffy asks Willow to leave the house? I got the impression from the summary that Buffy was about to but changed her mind when she saw Amy, yet the AICN review suggests Buff was going to spill re. her & Spike. Am confused.

I know what you're saying, but when it comes to W/T, I disagree. I could easily watch an entire show of nothing but them cuddling and making goo-goo eyes and saying impossibly cute things. When Riley first came looking for Buffy and found only Willow in the dorm room Willow said something like this to him.
Of course Willow was hurting over Oz and his sending for his stuff and not saying anything to her.

Will Buffy ask Willow to leave so Tara can come back to watch Dawn? Will Dawn ask to move in with Tara?
I have wondered how Buffy could be completely human after three vampires fed off her and she fed off one.
Spike, after being chipped, did fed off a kill that Dru made proving he hadn't changed at that time. Did he want to make a kill in this episode or was he testing himself? Spike can fight with and presumably bite the slayer, instead has sex with her. Is there a reference to little death here?

Oh, I don't think Spike has changed, and I have no doubt he would have killed the woman if the chip hadn't gone off. The smile he got on his face when he first thought the chip wasn't working...nope, same old Spike.

Plus, they did go out of their way to draw a parallel between Willow's actions and Buffy's. The intercut at the end between Willow's binge and Buffy's. And Buffy's reaction to Anya's "It's the responsible ones you have to watch out for...when they get a taste of going bad..." and that she's being "seduced" You could tell she was applying this to herself.

B/S not headed for a happy ending.
