Maybe this is all part of some big plan to give W/T their own spin-off? *Sigh*

Well I'm definitely thinking of this season as being the middle of a story:

Season 5 - Season 6 - Season 7

With "Restless" as the prologue, and an epilogue of similar strangeness to come either at the end of season seven or start of season eight (subject to the shows stautus)

Rosenburg, your theories are similar to many other people's. And I totally agree with you about the similiarities of some of the story lines from last season! I was complaining about that on one of the earlier General Season 6 spoilers thread. What I said was about Tara getting hurt and then Willow going all reveng-y. Its like the story is being recycled or something! I hope that's a clue to it not being real.

------------------
Tara: "I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love."
Willow: "I am." – "New Moon Rising"

"But with Tara, I just know she likes Willow, and she already has one of those" – "Family"

"Honey, in case you didn’t hear me the first six-thousand times, no more teleportation spells." – "Crush"

Willow: "I figured, life goes by so fast, if you don’t write stuff down it just gets…lost."
Tara: "Down to every last bagel"
Willow: "Down to every last everything I do with you" – "Forever"

No, Chris, it wasn't real easy to write. And I hate saying "They were right and I was wrong" as much as anyone else.

My point was just that I've seen quite a bit of speculation about how Tara might not be the "real" BSD. But the people who have been banging the concept into our heads all season and who, as far as I know, coined the phrase have been pretty clear they were talking about Tara. quote:

General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 10

BZENGO - I have another TV example for you. I believe it was from the second season of Millennium and the episode was entitled "In Arcadia Ego." It involved two Lesbian inmates who had escaped from prison. One of the women was pregnant as a result of allegedly being raped by a prison guard. The women first take a car and hold the driver hostage. Somehow they wind up going to a train yard, because one of the women (Sunny, I think) used to work for the railroad. Frank Black is captured by the women and held in the boxcar with them. Sunny gets into a standoff with the police who have arrived, threatening to start shooting if they don't bring her a doctor to help. The other woman (Janie?) goes into labor and Frank helps to deliver the baby. Janie dies in childbirth, and Sunny is shot to death.

Do we have enough evil Lesbian cliches in this episode for you? Let's see...Lesbian prisoners, Lesbian raped by woman-hating male, Lesbian goes crazy and threatens to kill people, lover dies, other lover gets shot and dies. Yep, I think the only cliche they missed was the Lesbian gym teacher seducing unsuspecting student in locker room. Maybe they had to cut that scene out because of time constraints.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Tara: Nobody messes with my girl!

Hey, maybe Buffy is still traversing various dimensions as she travels through the portal. Is it possible that she's currently stuck in some Ultra Hellmouth version of Sunnydale where everyone's flaws are emphasized and distorted and even mundane situations like a leaking pipe are exaggerated to the maximum degree? I wonder if there's a Key to understanding this somewhere?

a KEY to understanding this??? i read that and go back to my prior thoughts that somehow the fact that buffy died instead of dawn created some major dimensional glitch which created season six... it all goes back to the KEY...

"I'm not the key anymore. Or if I am, I don't open anything" --Dawn

somehow, i just don't believe that...

General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 10

Real has yet to be confirmed as an episode title. But if it were true, there's no reason to say that it [b]wouldn't[/b} be good for Tara. It could mean that the last few episodes had been fake, and that Tara is alive and happy with Willow, Spike is still chipped, and somehow Xander and Anya get back together

General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 10

Postby Wiccagrrl » Wed Mar 20, 2002 9:18 pm

Yeah, I somehow think it's all gonna tie back into Dawn, too. Part of my reason is the wish she made to Hallie. That she didn't want people to leave anymore.

But what's happening? Pretty much everyone seems to be leaving. Anya left town after the wedding fiasco- apparently to come back as a Vengeance Demon. Spike's leaving town. May come back dechipped. Tara? Dead. Willow? Gives in to her rage and grief. Possibly not safe for Dawn to be around. Buffy's so worried she apparently leaves Dawn with Clem.

It occurs to me that if you toss the *intense* homoerotic subtext in "Thelma and Louise" in, it might be legit enough to work for your list too.

It'd certainly fit the 'crazy'and the
'murders' cliches as well as the punishment by death one.

Ick. Never did like that flick -- although I must admit that I've only seen it once, ages ago. I have issues with one of the actresses. In that watching her emote makes my teeth itch.

Yeah, I was wondering about that two. . .the key was supposedly so powerful, the entire season 5 revolved around it, tons of people died for it, but as soon as the portal is closed, we never talk about it again? I know that Dawn is human, and the portal could only be opened at a certain time, but this incredibly powerful, old energy that has been protected for so long was only to be used at that one moment at that one place? I feel like the whole issue of the key was dismissed a little too easily. What do we really know about it? Just a thought. . .i know, I'm reaching. . .kittens rock.

I've been reading Wendy's info for a long time and if the above is meant to indicate that Wendy has in any been "immature" and "unsportsmanlike", than honestly, I think that's not fair. As far as I know, all Wendy ever did was be the first to post that Tara was unfortunately going to be the BSD. It wasn't something she made up to hurt anyone; it was legitimate info that she got and reported. Whatever her sources were/are, she has only reported spoiler information that she has every reason to believe is legitimate and truthful.

I was *not* happy to hear that Tara was going to die. It's a rotten turn of events. I don't fault Wendy for reporting it, however, or sticking by her sources when she believes that they're telling her the truth. The accuracy of her information, not just on this point but all season, leads me to believe that Wendy is an honest and believable spoiler source -- even when it's information that I'm not happy to hear.

Edited to remove the "not look too deeply into it" because if it turns out that the key to the last two episode lies in the Michelle Branch lyrics, I will feel very dumb. Heh.

"I'm not the key anymore. Or if I am, I don't open anything" --Dawn

somehow, i just don't believe that...

General Season 6 Spoilers - Part 10

I guess you missed the point. It was the WAY she presented her info here. The way she told us how to feel. The way she repeated the same information when she had nothing new to say. The way after she got called on some stuff she went back and edited all her posts. The way she was offended by skepticism. The way she told us to apologize to her when she was right and we were wrong. Of course you can't read any of this because she conveniently deleted it.

Some of us, unregistered voice of reason, have very valid reasons for not being pleased with her. AnGelX gave us the same info, backed it up, and was polite. Not concerned about her ego or being first. She was treated well. That's the difference.

I really don't think we need to debate this. I'm pretty damn sure Wendy knows why we feel the way we do.
