http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=11821They keep advertising this during Buffy on the weekends, always right after the opening credits...ok, I give in, I'll go see it!
Edited to add: Yeah, invisigoth, I wondered about a Buffy-Blade crossover, too. Seems though like the two franchises have such different takes on their own mythologies. Machismo/guns-and-swords vs. Feminismo/stakes-and-crosses. Also, Blade takes itself way more seriously, there's not nearly as much humor - or relationships - or good dialogue - or supporting characters - etc., etc. I dunno, I can't imagine how the two characters would react to each other! The overall styles just seem too different, like really different worlds...but maybe that's just me.
LOL-That's fucking hysterical but, yeah I did think it was that good and so did my girl an she couldn't beat up a pit bull if she wanted to.

Sexy star SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR is disappointed after producers cut a lesbian kissing scene from her new SCOOBY DOO film.
The stunning BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER actress, who plays DAPHNE alongside fiance FREDDIE PRINZE JR's FRED in the movie - an adaptation of the kid's cartoon series - reportedly puckers up with co-star LINDA CARDELLINI, cast as nerdy VELMA.
A WARNERS employee says, "They did film it. But the powers-that-be felt it would be too provocative.
"The kiss was considered too titillating. They felt it would make people chuckle and snicker."
Sarah Michelle is no stranger to female smooches, having shared an MTV MOVIE AWARD with SELMA BLAIR in 2000 for Best Kiss in CRUEL INTENTIONS. (ES/WNWE/CPT)

i was watching "Dr. T and the Women" this afternoon. was sleeping halfway actually when all of a sudden i caught Liv Tyler giving Kate Hudson a good kiss on the lips... oh boy, did that wake me up! yup, there's a lesbian subplot here and it's a happy ending (for the lesbians, ie.)
as for movie recommendations - yes on Go Fish, Better Than Chocolate, But I'm A Cheerleader, If These Walls Could Talk 2, The Truth About Jane, Fucking Amal, Bound, and alot more the other kittes have mentioned. What's Cooking had a gay couple Juliana Marguiles and Kyra Sedgwick(sp?) and they were cute in it too. Lost And Delirious wasn't bad either. pax

hmmm... oh, CHASING AMY... was really funny and cute... it's not about the whole gay-ness thing but, i think it's a fun movie.

William Hurt to Net 'Blue Butterfly'
Tue Mar 26, 4:18 AM ET
By Brendan Kelly
MONTREAL (Variety) - William Hurt has the lead role in "Blue Butterfly," the latest picture from seasoned Swiss-Canadian director Lea Pool ("Lost and Delirious").
The film, which began shooting in Costa Rica on Sunday, is based on the true story of Georges Brossard, the founder of the Montreal Insectarium, and a 10-year-old boy terminally ill with brain cancer.
Twelve years ago, the boy asked Brossard, who hosts the Discovery (news - web sites) Channel series "Insectia," to fulfill his last wish -- to capture the rare Blue Morpho butterfly, only found in the jungles of central America. The butterfly is said to have magical curative powers. They went to central America, caught the butterfly and, soon after, the boy's cancer went into remission.
Hurt plays renowned entomologist Alan Osborne, a fictionalized character based on Brossard. The boy is played by 13-year-old Toronto thesp Marc Donato, whose credits include "Pay It Forward" and "The Sweet Hereafter." His mother is played by Quebec actress Pascale Bussieres, who starred in "When Night is Falling" and Pool's "Set Me Free."
Production continues until May 3 in Costa Rica and then moves to Montreal for an additional month of shooting.
Interesting recs, and I'll definetly see some of them (my video club is tragic in its lack of variety). I'll add my own 'loved it!' to 'The amazing adventure of two girls in love'.When it came out I saw it twice in the same week.
I can't think of any specifically 'lesbian films' that haven't been mentionned, but I think both "Boys on the Side" and "the color Purple" are worth a look. Yes, I'm a Whoopi fan!

anyone seen the movie "More Than Friends: The Coming Out of Heidi Leiter" a made for tv movie from 1994? (I noticed it when I was looking at imdb's claire danes site.
It's only a half-hour but the story touches on several issues of high school lesbians such as the two girls' realization that they like each other (one of the nicest scenes is when they each realize the other feels the same way), and Heidi telling her parents about wanting to take her girlfriend to her senior prom (I forget how much they already knew or were in denial about) and dealing with their less-than-fully-supportive reactions (they mostly come around). Then there's the reaction of friends/teammates, a hate assault by two strangers, and finally the prom itself (which had a nice W/T-style dance scene, except without the literal floating).
It's framed by their appearance on some daytime talk show for an episode about same-sex couples going to (or that went to) their high school prom (starts with them in a limo on their way to the talk show, most of the story is in flashbacks to their experience), and the prom is punctuated by various audience comments (some good, some bad; it makes you wish you were there to respond to some of them) and such from the appearance which we only see snippets of.
It seems like a good mini-film for people to see (especially adolescents) and would probably be a good initiator for a guided discussion of issues. I think it's targeted at all straight/gay/questioning teenagers primarily, but even us older folks can find it interesting for a number of reasons. If you can find it, it's worth checking it out.
quote:There is also a movie called Everythings Relative, a sort of lesbian Big Chill..Its pretty good as well..When Night is Falling is another good one..Better than Chocolate and But Im a Cheerleader..Those may have already been mentioned..

You cannot change the past and the future is not here, live for today..

Off topic just a bit, but it is regarding movies..Did anyone see Donnie Darko and can they explain this movie to me lol..I really liked it but just couldnt figure out what happened..Thanks..
