Okay. Whew...Yes, the Angel crew was at the South Pasadena Public Library tonight. It was quite an eventful night. If you've seen the Buffy shoot thread you'll know I was shuttling back and forth between South Pasadena and Sunland tonight, too...
Okay, my first order of business is to tell you that this report has been CENSORED. Toward the end of the night an Assistant Director busted me for taking pictures of the shoot. We worked a deal wherein I deleted all my pics of one particular scene that they seemed very determined not to let out, but they looked the other way while I kept my other shots. I am therefore not going to say anything about the scene they made me delete my pictures of - at least not until I've talked it over with Xita, AnGeL X, etc. I don't want to jeopardize my ability to cover future shoots.
Now then. Here's the scene I can tell you about.
Gunn and Fred are walking around looking for something beneath this humongous magnolia tree. Fred has a camcorder in her hand. Gunn sees something on the ground and picks it up. It's a single red rose. Fred comes over, and they look at it together. Then they both suddenly fall down out of the shot.
A Production Assistant informed me that the magnolia tree is actually a monster of some sort, and that Gunn and Fred are pulled down underground. They've already shot something on a sound stage where the two of them are battling monsterous roots of some sort. That may or may not be like battling geek-infested roots. I'm not sure.
Gunn was wearing a brown jacket, gray pants, and I don't remember what color his shirt was. (Hey, I'm a guy... what do you want?) Fred was wearing blue jeans, and red tank-top like shirt and a lightweight pink sweater. It was quite cold out by the end of the evening and poor Amy Acker was huddling in a large coat when the cameras weren't rolling. It reminded me of Shonda Farr having to perform in the skimpy April dress on a cold February day last year.
There was one blooper - on the first take, J. August Richards fell into Amy Acker instead of falling straight down, and he knocked poor Amy onto her rear end. There was much merriment among the crew over that.
I have some pics, but many of them are dark and blurry and will take some time to whip into shape. It's well past midnight now, so I'll get them online tomorrow.
I was also told that David Boreanaz was in South Pasadena earlier today, doing a different shoot at a bookstore. I have no idea what that was about.
Until later...
