Want your old post count back?

On this board, when your post count changes or you change your avatar/sig, all your past posts are affected.

I've been a post whore all day and I'm still on 1212 or 1213. Any idea what's up?

Have you been having to delete many of your posts? (Like when you post, but it goes through two or more times.) If you have, that'll be reducing your post count.

The way I understand it (and I could be misunderstanding), if you had ten posts and posted once (your 11th post), but it went through three times and so you deleted two posts, it would reduce your post count 9. I think. Your post count should (logically) remain at 11, but it's like the post count thingy subtracts better than it adds. So you can be a post whore and actually end up with fewer posts than when you started your spree. (If I'm understanding the post count issue correctly.)

Edited to add: Now it changed to 658... that's weird...

When you post, the total postcount changes in every post you made previously as well. Just make a few test posts and observe to see whether it does or whether it really fails to count a post.

I've just noticed that my post count is on 187 (which is what is was a few days ago) but I've posted about 5 or 6 times since then and it hasn't changed. Does anyone know why this is? Hannah.
