I just wanted to say thanks for all the sweet feedback. I didn't know how that last one was going to go over.



Okay, I haven't started the next part yet. *Ducks head in shame.* I'm sorry, it's just that it's been so hot, and I have too much work, and I'm not focused. I want the story to be good, and if I try to write it really quick, just to get it up, I don't think it will be. So, I will try to write tomorrow, and hopefully I'll have something up tomorrow night. If not, I will definitely have something up by Thursday night.

Another figure shadowed the doorway.

Part 10b



“Oz. What are you... Why are you...?” Buffy stopped and shook her head. “Doesn’t matter. We need your help. That’s why we came.”



Oz stood there, just taking everything in, then, “Okay.”



Oz followed them down the street, heading back to Buffy’s house. “So, what’s happened? Where’s Willow?”



Xander looked a little uncomfortable, but he said, “Um, that’s kinda why we need your help. Willow and Tara are in Salem, Massachusetts.”



Oz’s heart sank when he heard taht Willow was with Tara, but he asked, “What are they doing in Salem?”



Again Xander looked uncomfortable. “They were transported there.” He said, “Then.”



“What was that last part? THEN?” Oz asked. “Okay, you’re leaving something out. Buffy?”



Buffy looked at him and sighed. “”They were not only sent to Salem, but they were sent to the Witch Trials.” She paused, “1693.”



“How?” Oz asked.



“Remember Jonathon?” Buffy asked. Oz nodded and she continued. “Well, he and two of his friends have been giving us a run for our money lately. They made some sort of teleportation device.” She paused, then said, “It happened last night, and we don’t know how much time we have left.”



“What do you need me to do?”



“Travel the Ghost Roads and go get them.” Buffy said quickly, looking away from him. At his silence, she continued, “I would go but there are all these stupid rules.”



She went on to tell him everything Lucy had told them earlier about time travel and the Ghost Roads.



“Will you do it?” Xander asked cautiously.



Oz looked at him calmly and said, “We may not be together anymore, but I still love her. I would do anything for her.”



Buffy nodded and thought, *God, I wish someone would do anything for me.* She thought of Spike and shuddered, *Someone who ISN’T a vampire named Spike.*



When they reached Buffy’s house Spike was watching “Passions,” so they headed for the kitchen.



Lucy was waiting for them.



“Hello, werewolf.” She said to Oz.



“Uh, hi.” Oz replied. “Oz is fine, by the way.” He added.



“Are you ready?” She asked.



“Wait up,” Buffy said. “If only those who have ‘changed,’ as you put it, can time travel, how are Willow and Tara going to get back?”



“Coming back to your original time is different. You do not have to have had something supernatural happen to you to do that. Especially if you were ripped out of the original time.” Lucy answered.



“Oh, okay.” Buffy said.



“Are you ready?” Lucy asked Oz again.



Oz nodded firmly.



Lucy opened a portal in the kitchen and Oz followed her through it.

Time Slip



Part 11a



*What are we going to do?* Tara was leaning against the stone wall in their cell, Willow asleep in her lap. She still wasn’t quite sure what had happened.



*I have to wake her.* Tara thought sadly. *Aww, she looks so peaceful.*



This was true. Willow hadn’t moved except to snuggle closer to the blonde. She had a look of such contentment on her sleeping face it brought tears to Tara’s blue eyes.



Tara removed her hand from it’s resting place on Willow’s back to wipe the tears from her eyes.



Willow opened her eyes slowly. “Hey,” she said softly to the blonde whose face was above hers.



“Hey, yourself.” Tara said, still wiping her eyes.



Willow, noticing the tears, sat up and turned to face Tara. “What’s wrong?” She asked worriedly. She took Tara’s hands away from her face and replaced them with her own, stroking the blonde’s cheeks lovingly.



“Nothing.” Tara replied, then, after thinking about it for a second, she added, “Except for the fact that we’re stuck 300 years in the past. And the problem that we’re imprisoned and we’re to be hanged. But, you know, other than that, I’m doing just fine.” She said with a wry smile.



Willow giggled and smiled back. Then her face changed and became serious once again. She asked, “Are you sure?”



Tara nodded and leaned forward to give the redhead a kiss on the nose. She smiled when she saw Willow grin ear to ear. “We have to figure out what to do. I don’t think we have much time before sunset.”



“Well, how long did I sleep?!” Willow asked, surprised. She had thought it was just around 2 or 2:30 when she fell asleep. “Please, please tell me that you didn’t let me sleep long.”



Tara looked at Willow sheepishly and said, “Well, you looked so comfortable. I didn’t want to wake you.” Willow looked at Tara questioningly. “About three and a half hours, I think.” Tara said quickly and quietly.



“What?! Tara! We have to get out of here! It’s going to be sunset soon.” Willow said hurriedly.



*She’s probably thinking a mile a minute.* Tara mused to herself.



*Oh, Goddess! What do we do? Wow! Did I really wake up in her arms? No, gotta worry about getting out of here. Okay! That’s a Tarahand on my leg! And, if I keep thinking about a hand on my leg, I’m gonna have a noose around my neck soon. And I can’t let Tara down again.* Willow thought.



*Yep,* Tara thought with an amused smirk, *A mile a minute.*



They heard a noise. They looked at each other nervously and then looked to the door.



There was a priest and a few men waiting for them.



*Okay, this is definitely not of the good.* Willow anxiously grabbed Tara’s hand and pulled her closer.



Tara did not object.



“Witches. It is time for us to send you back to the devil.” One of the men said.



*Oh, they think they’re so great, with their ‘less satanic than thou’ attitude.* Willow thought bitterly.



The men came over and pulled the girls up roughly.

*What am I doing? I don’t know what I’m doing.* Oz thought to himself. *It doesn’t matter. I could do anything for Willow.* Oz looked around.



It was very bright. Lucy was leading the way on the path. She hadn’t said anything since they left Buffy’s.



Suddenly, Lucy stopped and turned to face Oz. “Hurry!” She said.



Oz blinked, and when he opened his eyes he was shocked by the change in landscape.



There were two men pulling Willow and Tara toward the door of a cell he had arrived in.



“Hey!” Oz yelled.



Four heads turned to face him. Four mouths dropped open.

“Buffy?” Dawn called from the front door. “Buffy, are you here?” She closed the door behind her and threw her books down near the stairs.



“We’re in here, Dawn.” Buffy yelled back to her sister, from the kitchen.



Dawn walked into the kitchen and saw Xander and Buffy sitting at the counter.



“Where are Willow and Tara?” Dawn asked quickly. She watched as Xander looked at Buffy as though to ask for permission. “Tell me!” She yelled.



“Well, you see, Dawn...” Xander said slowly.



“They’re gonna get their witchy heads chopped off. They got sent back in time and are in the middle of a witch-hunt.” Spike said bluntly as he walked into the room and to the refrigerator and pulled out a packet of blood. “‘Passions’ is over, time for my snack.” He said.



*Since when do we have blood over here?* Buffy wondered to herself.



“Spike, go stake yourself.” Xander said irritably. “Oh wait, you already tried that.”



“Shut up, Bug boy.” Spike retorted.



“Buffy, what’s going on?” Dawn asked, returning her attention to Buffy.



“Well, basically what Spike said.” Buffy answered.



“They’re going to die?” Dawn asked, wide eyed.



“No!” Buffy said quickly, quieting her sister’s fears. “But they are back in time. But don’t worry!” She added as she saw her sisters face fall. “Oz went to save them.”



Dawn looked at Buffy, clearly puzzled, and asked, “Why didn’t you go?”



“That’s what I want to know!” Buffy said indignantly.



“How did they get back in time? And when did Oz get back?” Dawn asked, still confused.



“Both good questions, Dawnie.” Xander said. “We think Warren and the Geek Brigade are behind it. And Oz? Oz was at Devon’s when we went there today. Really convenient, if you ask me, considering we went over there to get him...” He trailed off.



“Well, what are WE going to do? We can’t just sit here.” Dawn said.



Buffy and Xander shared a look and then shrugged.
