As promised, Part 4 on the 4th of July! I had wanted to post earlier, but I got distracted with all the patriotic goodness. I really love my country. Yay.

For those of you who celebrate the 4th, I hope you had a great one.
I'm feeling a bit misty right now, and quite sappy, so I'm going to take advantage of this thread and just say this:
Make every day count. Appreciate what you have. No matter where you live, respect where you come from - your family, your ethnicity, your heritage, your country. And if you see something you think is wrong, fight to make it right.
Okay, speech over. Please forgive my outburst. And on to the story (oops, after some replies)!
***Jennpurr - Spoil you? I think you're spoiling me, with all the kind words! Not that I'm complaining, mind you...
***Kieli - Yes, cuteness was mentioned, hehe. Glad you liked the title. I just always wondered how an ex-demon could possibly learn all that she would need to be human, and then it hit me... books! The Demon Life Humanity For Dummies series...
***LeatherQueen - Yeah, Willow's just so cute when she's all helpy. Sigh.
***bulldog tidnab - Yes, s'mores are lovely things, aren't they? Nu-hu-mmy!
***Murasaki S - You're quite welcome!
***spazz07 - Flying by the seat of my pants, that's me! It's all about the fun.
***fidds - What can I say? Anya amuses me.
***MadeinNZ - Here's s'more, as requested. But no s'more s'mores - not yet,anyway.
***mollyig - I think Anya really does annoy Willow - and I think she often does it on purpose (to an extent) because she knows she can push Willow's buttons. But I also think they have one of those "I hate the fact that I actually like you" relationships, you know?
***Tulipp - I think we must have gone to the same cooking school. Hehe.
***shootingstar - You've never had a s'more? OMG! Someone get this Kitten a s'more, stat!
***katydid - Well thank you. I really, really enjoy writing Anya. She cracks me up!
***Grimaldi - Cool. Glad to have you aboard.
***Loco2 - It's all about the s'mores. As for their own tent... um, hehe.
***LadyLily - Well, I was gonna have them have s'more supplies, but I needed the option of a shopping trip... hehe.
***Puff - OMG! You are not familiar with the gooey goodness that is s'more? I'm so sorry! Think sandwich, with graham crackers as the bread, a bar of chocolate and a roasted marshmellow in the middle. Nummy.
***ally02 - Yes, Willow can threaten me, punish me... oh my, I'm sharing too much again, aren't I? *G*
***Thanatopsis - Well, I think sometimes it's what we would consider the simple things that Any finds the most challenging. Besides, she's a bit fragile at the moment...
***xita - I agree. I think Willow is totally loving, even towards Anya (as much as she might hate to admit that).

Title: Into the Woods - Part 4
Author: blameburner
Feedback: Sure… Always a plus
Summary: While the men are away, the ladies will play. Anya, Buffy, Willow and Tara head into the woods for a little female bonding. Hijinks and wackiness are sure to follow.
Spoiler Warning: None - it's AU, I guess. It's sent in the present - but no big bads, no S6 nastiness. Anya and Xander are together, Giles never left, Buffy never died, Dawn still exists, Spike helps out the Scoobies cuz he gets paid, and Willow and Tara never broke up since Willow was never addicted to magic. Pretty much think "Everyone's happy, together, and their usual amusing selves."
Disclaimer: Not my characters, but oh how I wish they were! Joss, blah blah, ME, blah blah.
Rating: R for now. I know, I know... we'll see.
Pairings: W/T… duh. Also B and A. But not B/A cuz, well, Buffy and Anya? That would just be scary - they'd kill each other!
Angst: Huh? What angst?
"Is that supposed to be a threat?" she asked huskily, scooting closer to Willow so that their faces were only inches apart.
Now it was Willow's turn to shiver.
"Oh no, baby. That's a promise," Willow answered.
Part 4
"Ahem!"
Willow and Tara sprang apart, both turning to glare at a very amused Buffy. Once again the Slayer had interrupted their smoochies.
Heck, this time she interrupted before there were smoochies! Willow thought. Her best friend was really starting to piss her off.
Buffy had to laugh. She couldn't help it. Tara and Willow were just so adorable together, even when they were both pouting.
Especially then, Buffy amended.
"What?" Willow asked grumpily.
"It's pretty late," Buffy said, standing. "And I think I've properly slayed this bag of marshmellows," she said, holding up the now empty bag.
"Geez, Buffy, sugar rush much?" Willow asked.
The Slayer shrugged, then yawned.
"Yes, it's late and we must have a good night's sleep so that we can wake up early and go fishing!" Anya said.
"Fishing?" Willow squeaked. "As in slimy, scaly water-dwelling creatures?"
"Uh-huh," Buffy nodded. It seemed Buffy and Anya had been plotting while Willow and Tara were off in their own happy little world that only contained each other.
"Honey, you have frog fear, not fish fear," Tara added helpfully, standing up and pulling Willow with her.
Willow looked at Tara, her eyes wide. "Yeah, but fish look like really big tadpoles, and tadpoles are just baby frogs, and-"
"Willow Rosenberg, we are going fishing tomorrow morning, and that's that," Buffy said firmly, though not unkindly.
Willow gulped.
"It'll be fine, sweetie," Tara reassured her lover. "Besides," she whispered, "we might have to go off and search for a better fishing spot. Away from Anya and Buffy. By ourselves." Tara waggled her eyebrows.
Willow nodded, suddenly very happy about going fishing in the morning.
"Okay, time for bed, then," Buffy said, snuffing out the fire and walking towards her tent. Anya turned the opposite direction and walked towards her own tent.
Willow and Tara stood unmoving, wrapped in each other's arms in between the two tents.
"So I guess I'll see you in the morning?" Willow asked glumly.
"Not if I see you first in my dreams," Tara answered, leaning in to kiss the redhead.
"Ahem!" Buffy interrupted yet again.
Willow started to turn to Buffy and say something very loud and so full of swear words that a sailor would have blushed, but Tara took Willow's face in her hands and kissed her deeply.
Whatever Willow was going to say was lost the moment she felt those sweet lips touch her own. Willow moaned, wrapping her arms tighter around Tara's waist, molding their bodies together in the moonlight. Tara brushed her lips over Willow's again and again, then tilted her head and nipped at the redhead's bottom lip.
Willow could feel her heart pounding wildly in her chest, each heartbeat seemingly crying out Tara's name. She could hear it rush through her ears and echo in her mind. It was overwhelming, it was consuming, and it was forever.
Willow felt Tara tease her mouth open, felt the first fluttering of Tara's tongue, and welcomed it into her mouth gratefully. The hacker sank into the kiss. There was nothing else, no one else, and there never would be. The rest of the world could explode around them, and it wouldn't matter. All that mattered was them, together, in each other's arms, breathing each other in until they merged into one thought, one body, one soul.
After a few long moments, Tara pulled back from the kiss. Willow's eyes fluttered open slowly. They were unfocused, dazed. Tara smiled.
"Are you two done yet?" Buffy asked, breaking the spell Willow and Tara had cast over themselves. Buffy hated to do it, but she knew that the two witches could easily stay standing there all night, just kissing each other.
Part of her wanted to let them. The intimacy of their relationship always amazed her.
It really is a miraculous love, she thought. Whenever she was in their presence, she could feel the love they shared, and it warmed her. It was like their love was so big, so powerful, that it couldn't be contained within their own bodies, and it spilled out and filled anything it came into contact with - including her.
She supposed she teased them and interrupted them because sometimes it was as if she was a voyeur, intruding on something private even when they were simply in the same room together, and she felt a little guilty.
Then again, it could just be because I'm a big meanie, she thought.
Nah."Huh? Wha? Who?" Willow responded finally, still dazed.
"Earth to Wil, come in Wil," Buffy laughed, walking up to her best friend. "Come on, time to go night-nite." She looked to Tara for confirmation, and the blonde witch nodded, smiling.
"Uh, okay," Willow said as Buffy pulled her towards her tent.
Tara watched as Buffy led her lover away for the night, then sighed and turned towards her own tent. Anya stood there, waiting. And waving. Why was she waving?
"Come on, Tara! Time for us to sleep together!" she said excitedly.
Tara started to groan, but was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"I heard that!" came a slightly muffled, but very loud Willow voice.
Tara heard a slight rustling, what sounded like a struggle, an "oof," and finally Buffy's voice.
"Willow! Don't make me get medieval on your ass!"
Tara giggled, but quickly stifled her laughter with her hand. Sometimes Willow was just too cute for words. And hot. Yes, take-charge-protective-butch-knight-in-shining-armor-Willow was definitely a turn on.
These sleeping arrangements just will not do beyond tonight, she thought.
"Is everything okay in there?" Tara called out uncertainly.
A pause, and then, "We're fine. Goodnight, Tara," Buffy called back.
"Goodnight," Tara responded, and then turned and walked into her own tent. With Anya.
"And remember... if you hurt her I will beat you to death with a shovel. A vague disclaimer's nobody's friend. Have fun!"
