Summary: Well... you've read the fic, so there's no point in me telling you what it's about
Thanks: A big, wopping great thanks to all the kitten who have read my fic. I wouldn't be writing if it weren't for you guys
Next morning Willow’s eyes fluttered open and she looked at her surroundings. Tara’s room. She smiled, her favourite place in the whole world. This was the room where she didn’t have to be scared or afraid. This was the room where she would always be safe. This, was Tara’s room.
Rolling over, she snuggled up closely to the slightly longer body beside her and closed her eyes again, refusing to even acknowledge that it was morning and that she should probably get up. Right now, there was no way she was going to get up and deprive herself of Tara snuggles. Tara. Her girlfriend had been through a heck of a lot in the last month. Her father breaking out of prison, him kidnapping her, which resulted in his death by Willow’s hand, and to top it all off, the man that had tormented and abused her all her life, it turned out he wasn’t her father at all. The man she had known as her uncle was. But despite everything that had happened, Tara was still standing strong. Willow honestly didn’t know how her girlfriend did it. If it had been herself, Willow would have probably had a complete mental breakdown by now. But not Tara. She had suffered through it all and was still standing. After everything that had happened, nothing had been able to knock her down and keep her down. She always got up again, and that was one of the things Willow loved about her. Tara wasn’t a quitter.
Smiling, Willow buried her head in the hollow of Tara’s neck and breathed in, deeply. Another thing Willow loved about her, was how she smelled. It was a mix between lavender and vanilla, and completely intoxicating. Feeling the body next to her move slightly, Willow lifted her head and found her girlfriend looking down at her.
Willow: Hey you.
Tara: Morning.
Tara was greeted with a kiss before Willow moved back down to Tara’s neck.
Tara: You sleep okay?
Willow: Like a rock. Well, after Miss and Miss giggle a lot quietened down, anyway.
Tara chuckled and began playing with Willow’s hair.
Tara: You mean they actually quietened down?
Willow: Eventually.
Tara let out another giggle and Willow sat up.
Tara: Where are you going?
Willow: Kitchen. I have a sudden graving for those little chocolate donuts you like so much.
Tara: Oh! Get me some, too.
Willow grinned, pulled on Tara’s robe and walked out of the bedroom. Entering the kitchen, she found Faith sitting at the table, eating the donuts she was craving and grinning.
Willow: Oh, well, you could have at least left some for me.
Faith: Huh?
Faith glanced down at the now empty box that had once been full of donuts.
Faith: Oh, sorry.
Willow: Yeah, Yeah.
Willow sat down across from Faith and looked at her.
Willow: So, you look like the cat that got the cream.
Faith: I had a good night.
Willow: I gathered as much when you and Buffy stumbled into the apartment last night.
Faith: You were here?
Willow: Sitting on the floor with Tara. You almost walked on us.
Faith: Huh. I didn’t see you.
Willow: I’m not surprised. The only thing you were looking at was the person you were sucking face with.
Faith kicked Willow under the table and smirked. Raising her eyebrow, Willow let out a giggle.
Willow: What’s this? Faith shy?
The brunette rolled her eyes and Willow smiled.
Willow: Okay, okay. Sorry. I’ll stop the teasing.
Faith smiled gratefully.
Willow: So…
Faith: So what?
Willow: I’m your best friend and you’re not going to give me details?
Faith: I don’t kiss and tell.
One look at Willow’s “pouty face” changed that.
Faith: Fine. Well, I was just walking around in the rain, turned the corner and bam, there she was. I was about to walk away when she stopped me. Then, we yelled at each other for a bit and then she says “tell me”.
Willow: Tell you what?
Faith: That what I said and she replies, “that you love me”.
At this point, Willow began jumping around the kitchen.
Faith: So I told her and she kissed me and said it back.
Then the clapping of the hands and squealing began.
Willow: That’s
so romantic! I can’t believe you guys are actually together. It took you long enough.
Faith just stuck her tongue out at the redhead.
Faith: It’s pretty surreal. I mean, it’s not every day the thing you’ve dreamed about for so long comes true.
They smiled at each other.
Willow: Hey, are you and your girl up for a picnic in the park later?
Faith peaked out of the window.
Faith: Looks like it’s gonna be a nice day. Sure. I’ll have to ask Buffy though.
Willow: Okay, I’ll tell Tara, but seeing as how there’s no chocolate donuts left, I don’t think she’d gonna be too happy with you.
Faith and Tara’s apartment: 11:00amWillow: Faith, do you have a blanket that we can sit on?
Faith’s head appeared above the top of the refrigerator door.
Faith: There’s one across the back of the couch.
Nodding, Willow left the room. They were getting ready to go on the picnic Willow and Faith had talked about earlier. Faith refocused her attention on the fridge, when someone tapped her shoulder.
Faith: Willow, I told you. On the back of the-
She turned around and found a smiling Buffy standing behind her. Faith face immediately lit up and she turned to face her girlfriend.
Faith: Hey there.
Leaning forward, she placed a kiss on Buffy lips.
Faith: I can’t believe I can actually do that now, without having to worry whether I’ll get slapped.
Buffy let out a giggle and placed the food Faith gave her into the basket on the counter.
Faith: So, you okay about this picnic thing?
Buffy: Of course I am. I get to spend the day with my three favourite girls.
Faith quirked an eyebrow.
Faith: You mean I’m not your favourite.
Willow and Tara could hear giggling coming from the kitchen and looked at each other.
Willow: If they giggle all night again, I’m kicking them out. I don’t care if this is Faith’s apartment.
Sunnydale ParkThey’d found a perfect spot under the huge Willow tree in the middle of the park near the lake. It was a hot day, so the shade would be very much welcome. Willow lay the blanket on the ground and all four of the sat down. Tara placed the basket in the middle and they began eating. Suddenly, Faith began coughing.
Faith: Oh, yuck. Willow, I think I have yours.
Willow pulled a face at the sandwich she was holding and swapped with Faith. Tara leaned towards Willow.
Tara: What do you have?
Willow: Eggplant.
Buffy: Oh, ew.
Willow: Hey!
Tara: No, no. I second that ew.
Willow: You’re all against my eggplant, aren’t you? You’re all Russian spies sent here to wipe out my eggplant, aren’t you?
The girls giggled, while Willow sat there scowling. They finished off their food in silence and then began talking about nothing really important, but just enjoying each other’s company.
Buffy: Could it get any hotter? I swear, you could fry eggs on my stomach.
Faith: Oh, I bet I can fix that for you.
Faith got up and disappeared around the back of the tree, much to the other girl’s confusion. Moments later, she reappeared with the biggest water pistol any of them had ever seen. Buffy leapt up off the blanket and glared at Faith.
Buffy: Don’t you dare.
Faith: What?
Buffy: You know exactly what.
Faith: Well, if you won’t tell me….
She began squirting water at the now squealing blonde. Buffy began running around the small part of the park they were situated in and Faith followed her giggling. Willow and Tara both burst into laughter and Faith stopped and looked at them.
Faith: You think it’s funny?
Buffy: I think they do, Faith.
Faith smirked at her girlfriend and then produced a smaller water pistol from the waist of her trousers and threw it to Buffy. Willow and Tara looked at each other and both got up, running behind the tree.
Willow: Don’t even think about it! Water and me don’t mix well. In fact, little, nastier me’s fly out of me and well, it isn’t pleasant!
Buffy and Faith just looked at each other and then they both moved around the side of the tree and began squirting the water at Willow and Tara. They both shot up and began running around the park, Buffy and Faith following them all the way. Their laughter turning the heads of every other person in the park.
