Title: Especially For You

Author: Shinnen

Email: shinnen@sammimail.com

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: I don't own them (Joss does, whatta lucky guy), I just love them and I’m borrowing them. But I do own this story, I think.

Pairing: W/T

Notes: I wrote this story to resemble something that I would set up as a perfect anniversary date, if I had the money and the person whom I would set it up for. Also this has very very mild angst level, so mild like baby shampoo. Willow has kicked dark magic out of her system. She has gotten back together with Tara and has been responsible with the use of spells ever since. This is a few of years after season 6.

Summary: Willow arranges a special anniversary gift for Tara and herself.

Feedback: Yes, please. I’m all into getting hacked by pens..or issit keyboards..anyway, please do give me comments. I can take anything that comes my way. I’ve got a stone heart. If I get the timeline of events wrong tell me. Also, I don't know a lot of stuff about relationships, so that's probably rather left out in some parts, sorry.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part One

“I wonder what’s going on with Willow and where is she?” Tara sighed sadly as she sat down at the dining table.

“Maybe she’s busy with, uh, her thesis and you should be too!” Buffy replied perkily. “I mean, you guys are so great, a great couple who went through thick and thin only to come out stronger than ever and you are all so smart! Imagine, both of you got scholarships to do your PhDs. How cool is that?” Buffy smiled brightly. With the overly perky mood of the slayer, Tara raised an eyebrow, studying the slayer closely but not saying a word. Mixing with Willow for so many years, even the slayer had had a little of Willow’s habit of babbling when things got a little out hand rubbed off her.

Buffy started to squirm under Tara’s scrutiny and quickly made an excuse to make sure Dawn was up and ready to go to college. Tara just smiled and turned back to her cup of hot cocoa and stared out the window. Where had Willow disappeared to these 4 days? They have never been apart from each other for more than a day since they got back together. But now, it seemed as though Willow had just disappeared into thin air and to make things worse, Buffy and the rest of the gang didn’t seem to be concerned. In fact, they were all acting really strange at the mention of Willow’s name and it wasn’t like Willow not to call or leave messages. Sleeping alone for three nights was agonizing without the warmth and touch of her Willow. Tara even went to the usual Willow haunts. No Willow. But she noticed that the gang was taking extra care of her, Dawn even helped out with the laundry.

Thinking back a few months, Tara had noticed Willow doing more and more freelance programming jobs, especially for big software and gaming companies. It was amusing to see Willow work, her face etched with a mixture of emotions from enthusiasm and excitement to slight frustration and determination. Her expressions were enough to keep Tara staring lovingly at the lithe red head. But it was a little out of character for Willow to accept so many big jobs at one go, on top of having to do her thesis.

Tara sighed again and took a sip of the hot cocoa that had been cooling. Behind her, the door to the living room suddenly burst open. Jumping slightly, she closed eyes to calm herself, she spoke almost without spirit, “Dawn, the pancakes are here on the table... still hot. I made them funny sha….” Tara stopped suddenly, her slate-blue eyes widened as a pair of arms snaked around the chair and her waist. The familiar scent of Willowness was now so close that Tara almost stopped breathing.

“Tara, honey…. I missed you so much!” Willow whispered into her ears. “I’m really sorry for disappearing so suddenly, but you can punish me for it.”

“Oh, Willow!” Tara stood up and pulled Willow into a hug and showering her with kisses. Tara was on the verge of crying. “I thought you left me!”

“Aww, baby. I wouldn’t leave you even for a second except for these 4 days which were important! Top secret! So top secret that I couldn’t tell you anything about it. But if this is what I get for disappearing for 4 days…wouldn’t I love to try a wee….” Willow couldn’t finish the sentence as her mouth and her whole body was now preoccupied with everything that was Tara. Her fatigue left her body.

“We…. *kiss kiss* should… *kiss kiss* oh goddess! *kiss kiss*” Willow reluctantly pulled away from Tara’s lip lock. “We should go upstairs to catch up on what we’re missing- wouldn’t want Dawn, Buffy or even Xander to walk in on us, do we?” Tara shook her head giddily, never releasing her tight embrace. Willow looked lovingly at Tara. “I’m really sorry for leaving so suddenly.” She had never seen Tara so worried. She kissed the blond witch on her forehead and proceeded to drag her lover and herself upstairs to the privacy of their room. But even as she thought of her plans, she smiled ever so sweetly at Tara. As the room door closes a whisper was heard –

“Forgiven”.

Part one is up just to test the waters. This is my second try at writing Willow and Tara fiction. Nowhere as good and elaborated as Sassette, Tommo, Anon or Lisa's. Boy! Those four are awesome writers! But this part is just to see whether anyone finds the beginning interesting. It's a simple start though.

You have a nice take on the relationship, moving it on a little further, timeline wise. That's enjoyable.

You seem to understand the characters and there's no doubting the love you have for Willow and Tara.

However, you sometimes seem a little unsure of what you're writing, in terms of genre and style. Sometimes you have elements of the script in it, with the fade to black part at the end. And then you occasionally change tense, so that the consistency is broken up somewhat.

Having said that, the basic story is attractive enough to keep reading. :)

And last piece of advice... :rolleyes Check out the beta readers thread at the top of the board, because having your work proofread by someone who isn't the writer gives a great perspective on what you've written.

Hope that helps and thanks for posting!

I really liked that, Shinnen. I got a little rush when Willow came up behind Tara and whispered in her ear. Nice. :) I only have one question. So Willow disappeared for 3 days, and didn't call? Tara didn't know where she was ... at all? In my opinion, I think Tara would be climbing the walls, roaming the streets and going insane without Willow. That's just my thinking, anyway.

Great start. Keep the updates coming!

I agree with the others: great start. Although what Jenny said, if Willow disappeared for 3 days without Tara knowing where she is, she would have panicked already and started looking for Willow all over and outside of Sunnydale. Keep the updates coming. :bounce

UPDATE

Postby Shinnen » Thu Apr 11, 2002 4:05 am

Thank you for the feedback. With that I made a few changes. Also thinking of what Willow planned. 3 days just wasn't logical!

Tommo:- Thanks for the advice. I'm looking to find a beta reader for this story. Would you consider? :)

JennY:- Oh yes, I did kinda left out how Tara reacted. So also in the last change I made, a mention of what she did when Willow was missing was made. :D

daydreamer:- heh heh....yes... I did know that and small updates were made to Tara's reactions.

mollyig:- Willow IS indeed up to something! ;) And I have it all up in my noggin'

To the rest of you kittens:- I'm already working on the next couple of parts. Part 2 will be posted as soon as I get it beta'd. I'm sorta having fun working my way towards Willow's plans. :grin

Also, I just got a job! Yay for me!! Extremely underpaid, overworked kind of job. But I'm not picky now... I need the money. SHOW ME DA MONEY!!!!

*ahem* Sorry about that. It's just so difficult to find a decent job in the economic slump.

Hey all, really sorry for the extremely long wait. I've been real busy with my new job and another one starting next week. But I've got my work beta read, made some changes to Part 1 and of course, Part 2 is up next. I hope no one has forgotten this story. :D Part one (above) has been edited and reposted.

Tommo:- No problem! I really can't wait for you to comeback to me because I'm sure you've got more constructive critisism and ways for me to improve it. I love to get POVs from a few people. Gives me a better insight. Thank you so much for suggesting getting my stuff beta read! :grin

Especially For You (Part 2)

by Shinnen

Disclaimer: I don't own anyone except Luc and the storyline. Joss owns the whole gang.

Pairing: W/T, who else!

Summary: After Willow's return to Sunnydale. A little cameo appearance of someone from Willow's past. And first of the many surprises.

Part 2

It was now the wee hours of the morning. Willow was seated in front of the computer in the room. Looking across the room to Tara, who was slumbering peacefully with a smile on her lips, Willow smiled. This was the woman with whom she had spent almost 6 years with.

I wonder if Tara has got anything special planned? Willow thought. She turned back to face the screen of her laptop. She was still tired from her disappearance but she had work to do. She was now chatting or rather having a conference, with a guy, whom she had called a week ago and spent the past 4 days with. As information was being downloaded, various documents were being read through by Willow.

‘Are these the only documents needed for the whole trip?’ Willow typed

‘Yes. I’ve even arranged for a pickup from the local airport,’ the reply came.

‘Good. So when do I have to pay the rest of the money? And there would be nice rented sedan waiting for us there? Make sure everything is perfect’

‘Yup. And the balance should be paid to Luc. He will be at the airport then, he’ll escort you to the hotel. You still remember how to get to that place right?’

‘Yeah, I still remember, but there would be a map provided, right? Thanks. I appreciate you doing this for me.’

‘No problem. I hope Tara will enjoy whatever you have planned. In fact, I think she’ll love it. She’s so lucky to have you and for than I’m happy for the both of you.’

‘Thank you so much, Oz. You won’t be at the airport then?’

‘I don’t think so. It took a lot of concentration to keep everything in check with only you around. I would be happy to be there for you and Tara but I think it’s for the best that I’m not.’

‘I’m sorry.’

‘Don’t be. I’m glad you chose Tara. I’ve never seen you happier. I have to go now. I’ve got to get back to work now. Bye.’

‘Bye.’ As Willow finished sending the last message and saving the important documents, she heard a stir from the bed.

“Willow?” Tara’s sleepy voice called out. When she reached over to Willow’s side of bed and felt it cold, she sat up immediately, sleep no longer lingered on her eyelids. Willow sprinted from the desk to her lover’s side in a split second that would have made the slayer look sluggish and held her tight.

“Shh… I’m here, baby.” Willow whispered as she stroked Tara’s golden hair. “I’m not going anywhere.” She now felt guilty about leaving and swearing Buffy and the gang to an oath not to tell Tara anything. Soon Willow and Tara were snuggled close together, sleeping in the security of each other’s arms.

******* ******* ******* ******** ******* ******* *******

The sun peeked through the gaps of the heavy dark curtains in the room. The warmth of the sun rays on her feet woke Willow. Tara had snuggled close to her chest with one hand rested on her stomach. Willow felt so comfortable that she wished she could stay the whole day with Tara in their bed. But she had work to do. All the programming workload that she took up had paid off in a hefty amount just in deposits. She had completed most of the programming and today was the day she sent them in to the various companies and collect the balance of the paycheck. ‘Half a million just for doing some programming. Life is sweet. Sweeter with Tara by my side.’ Willow thought to herself. She looked down at Tara whose beautiful blue eyes were now looking up at her.

“Hey…morning.” Willow leaned down and kissed Tara. “Had a good sleep?”

“Hey to you. Yeah, great sleep.” Tara gave Willow her unique smile. “What were you thinking about? You seemed a little spaced out and smiling at the same time. Were you thinking of someone else?” Tara joked.

“No! No no no. Why would I be thinking of anyone…. Oh… joking?” Willow looked sheepishly at Tara. Tara nodded then sat up.

“Gotta start breakfast soon. I’m starving, pancakes?”

“Ohh… Tara Pancakes! Yes please.” Willow grinned remembering that they hadn’t eaten since she got back yesterday morning.

“Be down in half-an-hour, baby,” Tara said giving Willow a kiss before sliding off the bed to head to the bathroom.

Alone in the room, Willow sifted through the stack of documents which she had printed out: hotel bookings, restaurants, emergency numbers, flight bookings, insurance and email from Oz regarding confirmation of a special order of a picnic basket full of goodies. Willow had a hard time finding the perfect restaurant chef to prepare a picnic basket. Seeing that everything was in order, Willow smiled and carefully hid the documents in her programming work folder which she knew Tara would never touch. ‘Only 5 days to go.’ Willow happily thought, and skipped to the bathroom to wash up and change. Tara was waiting in the kitchen for her and she could smell the aroma of Tara’s pancakes.

******* ******* ******* ******** ******* ******* *******

“Hey, honey. Pancakes are ready. There’s milk on the table and the newspaper just got in.” Tara answered while she tossed the last of the pancake from the pan onto a plate. Willow walked towards Tara, intending to hug her. “Hot! Hot! You don’t want to get burned, do you? Go, sit!”

Willow shook her head and obediently sat down at the table, watching Tara mill around the kitchen clearing up the utensils. Tara had felt Willow’s eyes on her the whole time and the quietness of Willow had given Tara the feeling like she was being watched by a predator. This predator, however, knew her prey well and soon, Tara sat beside Willow and watched her eat the pancakes. Soon, they were sharing a plate of pancakes. Willow feeding Tara little pieces with honey on them.

“Um…Tara? You know what day is Thursday, right?” Willow asked Tara.

“Of course I know, silly! It’s our anniversary. How could I not remember?” Tara replied, kissing Willow with honey lips. Willow smiled.

“Oh… it’s not JUST any anniversary. It’s our 6th anniversary. That’s a lot of good times together.” Then after a pause, Willow quietly added “This is the longest any Scooby couple has ever survived being together.” Perking up a little “But it’s a really special day and we are gonna enjoy it alone. No one else, just you and me and well…. Just you and me.”

Tara kissed Willow again. Getting more honey on Willow’s lips and a little on her cheeks.

“Mmm… sweet Willow… My sweet Willow.”

With the kisses getting more intense, they were oblivious of the world around them.

******* ******* ******* ******** ******* ******* *******

For the next 3 days, Willow spent every moment she had with Tara. These included rushing extra chapters of her thesis and also rushing Tara to complete more of her thesis. This would probably make up enough to cover the few days that Willow had planned. With Giles allowing her the use of the Magic Shop’s fax machine and the wonderful thing called the credit card, Willow had successfully gotten the visas required for Tara and herself. She had also booked the air tickets via Internet and was to collect them at the airport the day before the departure. All these were done carefully without Tara noticing, even when they both were at the Magic Shop. With any free time she got with Tara that didn’t involve working, Willow brought Tara out window-shopping. Then as Tara tried on the sun dresses and made comments, Willow carefully took mental notes on which dresses Tara liked and dropped a note for the sales girls from each store to charge the dresses to her credit card and informed her who will be collecting the purchase. Willow had already made arrangements with Buffy who was going to help with the packing.

Tara was beginning to get a little frustrated with the pushing and the mysteriousness or rather sneakiness of Willow. Willow never pushed her and Willow always told her everything that was going on often over-helping with the information. After various attempts at finding out what was Willow up to, she always came to a dead end. But on the plus side, she did complete more research work and reports for her thesis than she ever did in 3 days. She was also feeling suspicious of Willow bringing her into so many shops to try on dresses and asking whether she liked the dresses. Normally they wouldn’t step into so many shops and the common practice was just browsing, rarely the thought of trying on dresses came to mind, but she trusted Willow. After all, she herself was trying to think of something special to do for Willow and for some strange reason, nothing special seemed to come to mind. But she had already had a special gift ready for Willow, she purchased it from an antique shop while she was searching for Willow last week.

Finally Wednesday came and Willow was very fidgety from the moment she woke up. She gave Tara a good morning kiss and literally bounced out of bed, almost getting Tara tossed out of the bed from the after-bounce. After she washed up and took a morning shower, she came into the room. Her eyes were bright and sparkling like a pair of emeralds. Just looking at her eyes, Tara’s heart almost skipped a beat. Giving Willow a hug and kiss on her way out of the room to the bathroom, not knowing that Willow had peeped out of the room to make sure she was heading towards to bathroom , then sprinted quietly downstairs to phone Xander on his cell phone.

“Hey, Xander. Are you ready? Have you checked in the luggage for me? No problem there? The airport authorities didn’t give you any trouble? Cos I’ve gone through a lot to make the arrangements.” Willow rambled off the moment she heard Xander answer the phone.

“Yes, Will. Everything went well. I don’t know how you manage to get the airport authorities to allow someone else check in your luggage and how you manage to still keep all these secret from Tara because you both seem like you could read each other’s thoughts. Anyway, have you packed your passports and real air-tickets?” Xander asked flipping the photocopied then cancelled over air tickets in his hands.

“Yeah… got that done last night. Triple checked it already. Gonna check it again. And you’re coming soon, right?” Willow happily replied. “Xander? You know how much I love you?”

“Not half as much as I love you. Now I’ll be over in a minute, make sure you get Tara ready. You know, what you are doing is so good for you and Tara.” Xander replied, then added sadly, “If Anya knew about how you are arranging this anniversary of yours, she would have given me a lecture about NOT giving her a anniversary vacation like this. Now that she has returned to D’Hoffryn”

“Oh Xander, I’m so sorry I brought up bad memories.” Willow answered softly.

“Don’t worry, Will. It’s been a while. It’s okay.” Xander added gently, then perked up, “Hey, since I’m not allowed to say anything about the trip to you and Tara on the way to the airport, me, Buffy, Dawn and Giles had bought something for you and Tara’s anniversary and we would all like to wish you Bon Voyage and go make your girl happy. You wouldn’t believe how horrible it was watching Tara moping and almost burst out in tears every time she asked about you and we acted as how you asked us to. I think you’ve got a whole lot of explaining the moment you get on the plane.”

“Thanks, Xander.” Willow said softly. As she placed the phone back in the receiver, she heard Tara call.

“Willow?”

“Here, baby!” Willow called back as she bounded up the stairs to meet Tara halfway up. Pulling Tara into a embrace, kissing Tara once on her forehead, once on her nose and then finally a long passionate kiss on her mouth, she said “ Tara, we are eating out today. And wow, nice dress. Go get your purse and whatever you wanna bring along.”

“But Will…”

“No buts…go!” Willow playfully pushed Tara up the stairs. Picking up the small backpack that she left on the couch, she opened it to double check the passports and air tickets. “Perfect!”

Suddenly the blare of a car horn sounded. Xander’s here already? That’s fast. She thought. “Tara! The gang’s here already!”

Meanwhile Tara had grabbed her purse and opened the drawer where the little box that contained her anniversary gift for Willow had been hidden. She opened the box to look at the gift then instinctively put the box into the purse and zipped it up. Suddenly she heard Willow’s yell.

“Coming!” Tara called back as she clumsily came down the stairs. Tripping at the last step only to find herself in Willow’s arms. “That’s why I love you so much.”

Willow only smiled and pulled Tara towards to door. “Come on!”

Upon entering the vehicle and greeting the gang (Buffy, Dawn and Xander were there, Giles was at the shop), Willow whipped out a beautiful silk scarf, folded it a couple of times to form a blindfold.

“Turn around, honey.” Willow gestured and smiled lovingly at Tara. Tara raised an eyebrow, skeptical. Willow quickly added “Trust me.” She gently moved the scarf over Tara’s head as Tara gave her a Willow only smile and turned her head to allow Willow ease of blindfolding her. After Willow blindfolded her, she pulled Tara closer so that Tara could snuggle into her and not question her yet. The trip was quiet. Everyone in the rover was itching to say something but couldn’t.

Once knowing that Tara had been securely blindfolded and quietly nuzzling into Willow’s chest, Dawn passed over a box and mouthed the words “Happy Anniversary” on behalf of the whole gang. Willow smiled and carefully took the box mouthing the words “Thank you” to everyone, even so, it was in her facial expression and her eyes that told everyone that she was grateful for their friendship and help.

Shortly before arriving at the Sunnydale airport, Willow shifted a little and asked Tara carefully, “Baby, would you let me cast a temporary spell?”

“Hmm? What spell, honey?” Tara still was comfortably settled in Willow’s arms.

“Just a spell to silence everything that surrounds you, it would only be for a few minutes, I promise. You can still hear the gang talk and all, just not the other surrounding sounds.” Willow explained, crossing her fingers, hoping Tara would allow her to cast the spell for Willow had totally forgotten about the earplugs.

“Sure. It’s only for a few minutes, right?” Tara uncertainly replied.

“If you don’t want then you’ll have to wait a while and later wear really uncomfortable earplugs that…..”

“It’s okay… I trust you.” Tara interrupted Willow’s babble before it got out of hand. She reached up instinctively and touched Willow’s face. Willow nuzzled into her palms and before casting the spell, she kissed them.

“Silence” was the only word Tara heard then it was all quiet except Buffy asking if she could hear her. She couldn’t hear the engine of the car or the wind outside. And she couldn’t understand how Willow managed to cast a targeted spell just with a single word.

“Baby? Can you hear me?” Willow asked.

“Yes. It’s really quiet without background and ambient sound though.”

“Good. That’s exactly how I want it. We’ve reached the place. Careful now, hold my hands.” Willow said as she guided Tara down from the car. Keeping an arm loosely draped on Tara’s hips. “Okay, now wait here with Buffy. Don’t take off the blindfold. I wanna take it off for you later.” Tara then felt another person’s hands rest on her own. Buffy’s.

“Okay Tara. Let’s just find a seat and wait for Willow. She’ll be back in a jiffy.” She heard Buffy’s voice say chirpily.

“What’s going on? Not that I don’t trust Willow, because I DO and with my soul but isn’t this a little strange? And where are we now?” Tara started asking.

“Oh…Tara, I wish we could tell you, but we were sworn in by secrecy, ya’know, Scoobies’ Oath.” Dawn replied with a similar tone of voice Buffy had.

“Yeah and you know, we, uh, shouldn’t actually be saying so much?” Xander added.

“Back! How’s everything?” Willow asked happily as she took Tara’s hand, pulled her up and snaked an arm around her waist, guiding her along carefully. “Bye, guys!” She turned around and yelled. Everyone just waved, all grinning from ear to ear.

Willow slowly guided Tara to the correct terminal then on to the plane. When they were comfortably seated, Willow snapped her fingers and Tara could hear normally again. Then she carefully untied the scarf and handed the scarf to Tara.

“Wha..? W-willow? Why are we…” Tara looked around wide-eyed and out of the window seat of the first class flight that Willow booked. “…on a plane?”

“Um.. Surprise!!!! Happy Anniversary, baby.” Willow sweetly declared.

“Our anniversary isn’t till tomorrow, Willow.” Tara calmly replied. Her tone of voice soft yet highlighted with surprise.

“I know. That’s why we’re on the plane today, so that will reach our destination by tomorrow afternoon.” Willow explained, then leaned forward till Tara’s and her face were barely a breath away. “My Tara, we are going to Malaysia!”

This sentence left Tara completely speechless and happy beyond any expression could convey. She fainted, leaving Willow feeling very pleased, for she expected this to happen. She buckled Tara’s seat belt, waited for the plane to take off before she lowered Tara’s seat down. she then took out her lab top and connected to the internet. Every now and then she would look at Tara sleeping with a contented and sweet smile on the blond’s beautiful face.

Luvily stuff.

I'm curious as to what Tara got Willow.

Hmm, suppose I have to wait to find out. Oh well.

I could paint you in the dark, 'cause I've studied you with hunger as a work of art - Collecting you (Indigo Girls)

Title: Especially For You (Part 3)

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: I don't own them (Joss does, whatta lucky guy), I just love them and I’m borrowing them. But I do own this story, I think. The song “Eyes On Me” is Nobuo Uematsu’s.

Note: revised and most errors have been corrected.

Part 3

Willow looked over at Tara. Still Out. She couldn’t help but inwardly giggle at Tara’s reaction when she sprung the first surprise. They’ve traveled over 8 hours. Tara was still sleeping. She had slept through breakfast, snacks and lunch so far. Willow put a hand gently on Tara’s shoulder, then slowly moved up to push away a lock of Tara’s hair that had fallen over her face. She had never seen someone as beautiful as Tara. Even after 6 years (counting tomorrow, their anniversary), Willow never had anyone who was more precious as life itself to her than Tara. They had been through a lot and their relationship had survived.

Tara reacted to Willow’s touch with a contented sigh and smiled with her eyes still shut. Then slowly opening her eyes to see Willow’s sparkling emerald eyes looking lovingly at her.

“Hey…” she softly greeted Willow. Just that one word brought a wide smile from Willow’s lips. She sat up and looked around. There weren’t many people in First Class.

“Hey.. Want something to drink? You’ve been out of commission for almost 9 hours, baby.” Willow said with a grin while she pressed the button on the armrest to call a stewardess. In less than a minute, a stewardess came to attend to them.

“What can I get for you and…” the stewardess saw that Tara was awake and smiled at her. “..Miss Maclay? Ahh…Welcome to flight MH202 bound for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This flight will make an hour’s stop in Singapore then will continue on to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.” She paused a while and smiled. “May I say something?”

Willow and Tara nodded uncertainly.

“I’ve really never seen someone pass out so long after a surprise.” She said, her voice full of amusement. “What may I get for you to eat? Here’s the menu. Maybe a drink first?”

“Um.. I-ice water, p-please.” Tara blushed furiously and smiled shyly at the stewardess. The stewardess smiled again then walked away to get the order.

“Do they always serve us like that? They’re so polite.” Tara turned to ask Willow as she made her choice of a meal and put away the menu.

“Only in First Class. Baby, I’ve never seen you sleep so long before.” Willow teased, knowing very well why Tara and herself rarely even slept long. Tara’s blush was gradually getting redder. “Awww… you look so cute when you’re blushing.” Willow pulled up the armrests separating the two seats and snuggle closer to Tara. Both felt tingles of electricity as their bodies made contact.

Too many questions were swimming around in Tara’s head. While they were comfortably in each other’s arms, the stewardess came with Tara’s water.

“And what may I get for your meal order, Miss Maclay?”

“Um… C-chicken sandwich in pita and a Caesar salad, thanks.”

“Good choice, Miss Maclay. Please wait a while.”

Tara snuggled back into Willow’s arms. The seats were much broader when the arm rest were pushed up, almost similar to a very small bed.

“Willow?”

“Hmm?” Willow answered as she stroked Tara’s golden blond hair.

“Were you planning this for the past few months?”

“Yes, I was. I want this to be perfect. Plus, we probably won’t have financial problems for a long while.” Willow answered, still stroking Tara’s hair. Tara turned to look up at Willow, her slate-blue eyes were glistening with tears of joy and utter love for the woman who was stroking her hair ever so gently.

“Thank you. I’ve never felt so loved in my life since Momma died and you came along.”

“Don’t cry, baby. You did the same for me. I just want to show you how much being together after all these years means to me. And I thought long and hard, and this is going to be the best anniversary ever.” Willow kissed Tara and soon they were both so engrossed with each other that when Tara’s meal was served, Willow had to force Tara to eat, as Tara hadn’t eaten since leaving Sunnydale.

After Tara finished her meal. It was snuggle time again. Willow was lightly caressing Tara’s forearm, which was draped across her tummy. The blond had leaned her head on Willows shoulder and she was softly asking Willow questions.

“…How about clothes?”

“Um...remember all those window shopping trips we made for the past few days? I wanted you to look around and try out clothes?”

“Yeah?”

“Well, I bought most of those that you said you liked. All the clothes were packed and checked in before we went to the airport.”

“Oh Willow..” was all Tara could say. She was beyond happy. She looked up at Willow and gave her a long kiss before settling back down.

Willow was so proud of her plans and now knowing that Tara was happy about things so far. Willow did something, which she didn’t do normally. Since Tara always sang to her back home, she would now sing to Tara away from home. She had a song in her head. Though Willow had a sweet voice, singing didn’t quite agree with her. She tended to sing a little off key at time and for someone who wasn’t academically challenged, she couldn’t remember the complete lyrics of the song she wanted to sing to Tara now. But she started humming first and she felt Tara snuggle closer to her. She wrapped her arms around the beautiful blond and softly hummed till she came to the part of the song where she always could remember.

“…I kind of liked it your way, how you shyly placed your eyes on me.

Oh~ did you ever know, that I had mine on you?

Darling~ so there you are, with that look on your face.

As if you're never hurt, as if you're never down.

Shall I be the one for you, who pinches you softly but sure,

If frown is shown, then I will know that you are no dreamer.

So let me come to you, close as I want to be.

Close enough for me, to feel your heart beating fast.

And stay there as I whisper, how I loved your peaceful eyes on me.

Did you ever know, that I had mine on you?

Darling~ so share with me, your love if you have enough,

Your tears if you're holding back, or pain if that's what it is.

How can I let you know, I’m more than the dress and the voice.

Just reach me out then, you will know that you're not dreaming.…”

“Willow?”

“Yes?”

“That’s so sweet. My Willow, serenading to me above the clouds.” Tara looked up into Willow’s face and gave Willow a smile that was only meant for one person. Willow could only smile back, losing herself in Tara’s clear blue eyes which were filled with faith, trust and above all, love.

“I know, I practiced but never could get it perfect. I love you.”

“I love you, too. And Willow?”

“Hmm?”

“You went a little out of key along the way, but I still love you for it.” Tara smirked.

“Come on. Lets catch a show, I think there’s a nice romantic rerun on in a couple of minutes.” Willow grinned as she shifted slightly in the seat noticing the present that Dawn had passed to her in her pocket for the first time since

“Okay”

Soon they were both watching a romantic movie on the personal viewer and before the show was over they were both sleeping peacefully. Hours passed quickly. Willow always noticed that no matter how boring things got, as long as Tara was with her, it was nothing. Even if they were only sleeping together or just lying in each others arms talking. After skipping another meal. They woke up to the final meal before reaching Singapore.

Willow checked the time and adjusted her watch to the current local time.

“Happy Anniversary, baby.” Willow softly greeted her blond lover.

“Happy Anniversary, honey.” Tara replied pulling Willow closer to her for another hug and kiss. The stewardess had come over to take orders for the meal. Willow had ordered something called Nasi Lemak while Tara had Hainanese chicken rice. Both of which are Malaysian cuisines, which were highly recommended in the menu. When the stewardess left, Tara bent down to retrieve her purse which was tucked underneath her seat. She pulled out the little box from her purse and gave it to Willow.

“Here, honey. Happy Anniversary.”

Willow slowly flip open the box and saw the most beautiful antique pocket watch, all restored and it had a picture of Tara and herself fitted nicely into the cover.

“It’s...it’s… perfect! Is this 18th century? And it’s still working! Wow! You’ve gotten it polished up, too. It’s all nice and shiny. The carvings on them are so intricate! It must have cost you a lot! Oh Tara! I love it! I love you!” Willow’s burst of excitement and stream of babble stopped as sudden as it started when she suddenly planted a long passionate kiss on Tara. Though Tara was expecting something like this she was caught off guard with Willow’s sudden kiss, but soon she closed her eyes and returned the kiss.

When the food came, Willow carefully placed the watch back into the box and kept it in her backpack, then she opened the platter cautiously and saw a small pile of rice cooked in coconut milk, anchovy sambal, chicken curry, fresh cucumber and some roasted groundnuts surrounding the rice. That doesn’t look so threatening. She looked amusingly around the platter and took a piece of anchovy and stuffed it into her mouth. Tara almost knocked over her food laughing when she saw Willow’s reaction to the spicy sambal. Willow’s face was now as red as her hair and she was sticking out her tongue. An absolutely priceless scene.

“Hot! Hot! Water! Water!” Willow called out hoarsely. She had already downed both Tara’s and her own cup of juice and water. Tara had already ordered a jug of water for Willow. She tried to calm Willow down while trying to suppress the giggles that was going to burst out anytime.

“Here. Water’s here, honey.” She smiled as she poured water into Willow’s glass. After drinking the whole jug of water, Willow lay back and surrendered to the Nasi Lemak.

“Argh! They should put a miniature fire extinguisher on the tray with this dish.” Willow’s face was still red.

“Here honey. Let’s share mine. It’s actually quite tasty and not spicy at all. I thought all food on the plane was terrible. But this is seriously edible.” Tara said as she took a spoonful of rice and chicken and feed Willow.

“Mmm.. That’s nice.” Willow smacked her lips. “ Hurts a lot less than the Nasi Lemak, lips and tongue still smarts.”

“Maybe I can cure that.” Tara said as she leaned over to kiss Willow.

“I’m sure you can.…” she said as her lips met Tara’s.

After about an hour, the captain of the flight made an announcement.

“This is your captain speaking. We will be landing in Changi International Airport, Singapore, in ten minutes. The flight will then continue to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Please stay in your seats and buckle your seat belt when the sign turns on. For the passengers who are getting off at Changi International Airport, thank you for flying with MAS…..”

Willow pulled off the blanket that was covering Tara and herself from head to toe and looked around the plane, then looking back down at Tara who was breathless from their little curricular activity under the blanket.

“Tara? We’re gonna land soon. But THIS was fun.” Willow grinned and pointed at the blanket and then at themselves.

“Come on, baby.” Willow sat up, pulled Tara up and helped readjust their seats back to the original position. “We’re gonna land in Singapore for about an hour. Buckle up!”

Tara felt under around her seat for the seatbelt and buckled in. Willow had leaned over to double check the blonde’s seatbelt, her arm accidentally brushing against Tara’s breasts, the action had caused them both to close their eyes and take a sudden deep breath because their hearts were racing and temptation was great. It always took a lot of effort to not start with the hot kisses every time they touched intimately on purpose or by accident.

Settling back into their seats, they held hands as the plane landed. The First Class passengers were allowed to disembark the plane first. Willow and Tara were the first to get to the lounge; Willow collected the temporary boarding pass from an airlines officer who was announcing and handing out the passes to those who were continuing their flight to Kuala Lumpur.

**********************************************************************

In the lounge, they picked a place to sit where they could have some privacy. The lounge chairs were very spacious so Willow sat in one and made Tara lean against her. Willow then pulled out the little box that Dawn had given her.

“Tara? Um… This is from the gang. They wished us a happy anniversary.” Willow handed over the little box. “Here… you open it. I was so curious to see what is it but I think you should have the honor of opening it.”

“No…we should open it together.” Tara said and she placed Willow’s hands on the box. They both opened the box together and gasped.

“Oh goddess!” they both exclaimed. Willow lifted out two bracelets whose designs complemented each other, just how Tara complimented Willow and vice versa. One bracelet had Tara’s name etched into a long, matte silver cylindrical panel with pink Tourmaline beads to complete the bracelet. The other had Willow’s name also etched into a similar silver panel, but with blue Tourmaline beads. Both bracelets’ panels had a diamond encased in one end of it. A little note accompanied the gift. Tara read the note out to Willow. It was a little difficult to read as Buffy didn’t really have good handwriting.

“Hey you lovebirds.

Happy anniversary from all of the Scoobies. This is our gift to you, two bracelets. Will, you’re supposed to wear the one with Tara’s name. And Tara, you wear the one with Willow’s name. We made this specially for you. Giles said it was supposed to um… make your already long and stable relationship even longer! Hope you like the gift.

Love,

Buffy, Dawn, Xander and Giles.”

“Oh wow! Tara… these are so…you gotta love the gang for this.” Willow for once had no way of wording her feelings.

“Yeah… I know. I mean, they’ve been the family I had all these years.” Tara said thinking about her abusive father and brother. “We’ve really gotta thank them when we get home.”

“Let’s put them on.” Willow took the blue bracelet and working from behind Tara, she hooked it into place. “Never looked better on anyone else.” She said as she kissed Tara’s hair.

“Doesn’t look too bad on you either” Tara said as she put on the pink bracelet on Willow’s wrist and kissed her hand.

After another 15 minutes of quiet time together, the announcement calling passengers to board the flight to Malaysia was made.

***********************************************************************

After collecting their luggage and going through the customs, they both headed out. Willow was looking around.

“What are you looking for?” Tara asked curiously.

“Not what…who. I’m actually looking for a guy named Luc. He’s supposed to bring us to the hotel.” Willow answered, still looking around, then she spotted a tall good-looking guy holding up a “Willow and Tara. Welcome to Malaysia” sign. “There he is!” She pushed the trolley towards the guy pulling Tara with her. Tara could only smile at the cuteness that was Willow.

After a short conversation, Willow and Tara followed Luc to the car park and were soon on their way into the heart of Kuala Lumpur where they were to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Tara had slept a little more in the car as the trip from Sunnydale to Kuala Lumpur was a little tiring. While Tara was napping, Willow had to whisper whatever she wanted to ask Luc and had received relevant documents and tickets for the next part of her big anniversary plan She had also paid Luc the balance of whatever she owed and sent Oz her regards via Luc.

“Baby? We’re here.” Willow gently woke Tara up. “I’ve checked in. Our room has a Jacuzzi. Wanna have a dip in it with me?”

“Mmmm…” Tara smiled, her eyes still closed, she stretched and put her arms around Willow’s neck. Willow couldn’t help but grin.

“Tara? Baby? Come on. Lots of privacy waiting upstairs.”

“Sigh… Okay.” Tara opened her blue eyes to look at Willow and she hopped out of the car with a little assistance from her redheaded lover.

Within a few minutes, Willow and Tara were both in their suite’s Jacuzzi. Willow never felt so loved, she loved every part and every curve of Tara that she could get her hands on and in the Jacuzzi, she had her hands on every part of Tara. Tara was enjoying Willow’s touch. The constant movement of the water along with Willow’s hands massaging her, Tara was left very stimulated. About half an hour of relaxing in the Jacuzzi, Tara turned around to face Willow.

“Let’s go relax in the bed. It looked really soft and comfy.” Tara gave Willow a sensuous smile, then lifted Willow’s hands to look at her fingers, “And look, your fingers are already starting to resemble raisin.”

“Sure. Anyway, it’s lunchtime in an hour. Snuggles?”

“Oh yeah!”

They quickly dried off and hopped into bed just wearing bathrobes. Willow set the alarm and then on to the snuggles. Snuggles never felt better away from home. This time in Malaysia is so much better than the 4 days I was here. Tara’s with me now. I’m complete. Willow thought happily as she fingered a lock of Tara’s blonde tresses.

The hour went by quickly and before the girls knew it, the alarm went off. As they picked out clothes to wear, every piece of garment that Tara picked out from her suitcase had brought out a little gasp from the blonde.

“Willow! You didn’t! All these…oh my…” Tara lifted out dresses and blouses that she had really liked from the various shops in Sunnydale.

“I did. Oh and there’s more.” Willow walked over to Tara and gave her a from behind. “Look underneath that flap” Willow freed one hand and pointed to the bottom of the suitcase.

Tara did as she said and to her delight, a dress, the most beautiful sundress she has ever seen. In fact, she had never seen a dress like it. The patterns and design of the dress wasn’t American.

“Wow! Where did you get this?” Tara lifted out the dress to get a better look.

“Oh…I’ve been meaning to tell you since we’re here already. I bought this here in Malaysia…um…ya know…those 4 days I went M.I.A.?” Tara felt Willow body fidget a little against her body.

“You were here? I knew I had forgiven you for a good reason.” Tara smirked. “This is the best anniversary I ever had.”

“There’s more to come. But come one, we’ll hop down to the shopping center, KLCC, which is connected to this hotel. I think they have some pretty good restaurants there.” Willow pulled on a light blouse and denim shorts.

“Mmm… or we could just have lunch in here…” Tara looked at Willow’s slender legs.

“Tara!” Willow laughed, sometimes her girlfriend really had a single tracked mind. Willow looked at the little pile of clothes that Tara had taken out. She picked out a light floral blouse and a flowing skirt.

“Thanks…I couldn’t decide on what to wear anyway. How come I can’t wear that dress now?” Tara pouted. It was too much for Willow to bear. She had to kiss away the pout from her lover.

“Because, baby. That dress would be for tonight. The big date.”

Soon the girls were out in KLCC, walking around looking at the various shops that sold souvenirs, local Malaysian material and a mixture of various other cultural and non-cultural items and clothes. They had lunch at a place called “Stone Grill” where the food were served on a hot stone, where the customer had a chance to cook their own meal in the comfort of air conditioned environment. Tara had enjoyed every moment so far.

After that they walked out into the park behind the shopping center and hotel. It was hot. Thank the goddess Willow had made sure we had light material clothes to wear! Tara thought. As though reading her thoughts, she heard Willow reply. “Definitely! I was here last week, light clothes were the best. If we had to wear our regular clothes, I’d be hugging a rather well tanned Tara tonight.”

They sat underneath some palms in the park and watched the various activities going on around them. There were some pools with metal sculptures that were also fountains and many people milling around the sidewalk cafes at the KLCC building. Lots of trees and lovebirds around. Though the weather was hot, most didn’t mind as many walked around with umbrellas. Very colorful. The people who ran the park had installed a very unusual looking drinking fountain. It was also a metal sculpture and had four different corners for people to drink from.

They lazed around until 4:30pm and then they walked back to the hotel. Willow had dressed up in a new blouse and slacks that she bought for the occasion and helped Tara get dressed as well.

“Turn around!” Willow said excitedly. “Oh wow! Tara… you sexy babe!”

Tara blushed and dipped her head down and her blonde locks fell and covered the view of her face. Willow remembered how Tara first looked like when they met for the first time. It was so long ago, but it felt like yesterday, at the Wicca group in college.

“Y-you think so?” Tar asked, mentally slapping her forehead for stuttering.

“I KNOW so and don’t you go all shy on me. It’s me! Willow! The person who you don’t have to be shy to, not that I don’t like that. It’s really sexy and appealing and well, that’s also why I can’t get my hands off you and can’t take my eyes off you…” Willow was stopped by Tara’s passionate kiss that filled them both with love and if Willow didn’t stop it, there would be another long delay, which they couldn’t afford.

“Come on. We’ll do this later.” Willow gasped for breath as she unwillingly broke off from the kiss. “We’ve gotta go down and meet Luc. He’s getting the car for us.”

“Car, baby?” Tara said breathlessly. Willow swore that sometimes Tara could make any sentence sound sexy.

“Oh yes! Car! We’re going for our big anniversary date.”

************************************************************************

Outside the lobby, Willow saw the very car she had asked Oz to rent for her, a Toyota Camry and she was caught by surprise when she saw who was closing the car boot.

“Oz!” Willow managed to say. Taking hold of Tara’s hand she walked towards the car. “Oz! You said you weren’t coming, but you made it!”

“Hey, Will.” Then quietly turning to Tara, he smiled and lifted his hand in a gesture of greeting and more importantly, friendship. “Hey, Tara.”

“H-h-hey, Oz!” Tara was a little afraid of Oz and had pulled back a little to hide behind Willow.

“Baby…it’s okay…” Willow comforted Tara. She turned back to Oz. “How’s everything with you. You seem very calm,” She said as she gave him a warm hug.

“I am. I’ve been thinking. After all it’s been so long and I know where your heart lies. I understand. You still love me and I still love you, but in a different way. Kinda like how Buffy and Xander love you. But as I said before, I’m happy and me appearing here is a gesture of my friendship to Tara.” He turned to look at Tara. “I’m really sorry about what I did to you last time. I’ve learnt to let go.”

“T-thanks. I’m g-glad you think so too.” Tara cautiously put out her hand to shake Oz’s, only to be pulled in for a tight hug. When Oz let go of Tara, they both saw that Willow was already inspecting the car.

“Better go see what she’s up to.” Oz laughed as Tara nodded her head in agreement.

“Wow! Oz! How did you managed to rent one so new?”

“Connections. I’ve been here for a while. I know people. Um… shall I show you the stuff in the car boot?” Oz said as he nodded slightly towards Tara who was looking lost.

“Sure” Willow smiled as she led Tara over and held her hand. “It’s “reveal the surprise” time.”

Oz opened the car boot to reveal a huge picnic basket, a small stereo all packed with batteries for portability, a few cushions, a tube of mosquito repellent and an icebox.

“All the stuff you need and...here” Oz said as he took out a CD casing. “My anniversary gift to you and Tara. It’s not much, but it’s one of the original CDs from Dingoes At My Baby.”

“Oh Oz! But it’s your most treasured CD!” Willow went wide-eyed.

“It was a milestone in my career, and you were a part of it. I’m giving it to you and Tara for 2 reasons. One as an apology to Tara for almost killing her,” Oz went really quiet for a moment, hardly daring to look Tara in the eyes. “And two, I want Tara to share in something that was part of you before you met her. There’s also a three… but it’s not relevant.” He grinned.

“W-what is the third?” Tara gently asked.

“Three, my band was really good and for every song on the CD, an event happened. I don’t know if Willow told you, but every song had a Scooby event tied to it.” Oz grinned from ear-to-ear.

The three of them laughed out loud.

“Thanks, Oz, for letting me have a chance to experience Willow before I met her.” Tara this time initiated a hug. Willow came over to give Oz a hug also and whispered her gratitude to Oz.

“Come on, Tara. It’s a 45 minutes drive to this wonderful place. Might as well get started now. Thanks, Oz.” Willow waved to Oz as her got into the drivers’ seat of the car. Tara had already got in and was buckling in. Willow looked once at the map with the route marked out, started the car and turned out of the hotel, leaving Oz waving goodbye.

mollyig:- That's one of my intentions. They are always in Sunnydale. They should take a break away from the Hellmouth and away from where they know best. Another reason is that I'm a Willow and Tara fan who's only really seen 4 episodes of BtVS season 4 and only clips of season 5 and 6 that featured the couple. I'm bringing Willow and Tara to my turf. :D

The next part will be the BIG one...and then some. :grin

Glad this part didn't suck! Ha! :bounce
