Can she find love, and continue her much loved career? This is an AU fic. There will be a little angst between some characters, but nothing big for I want to keep the angst issue light. ~Part 28c~~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“What I am saying is Mr. Jackson, don’t be one to judge a person so quickly. A heart cannot tell gender from gender, a heart only knows how to love. To guide someone to a safe place and keep him or her well cared for. True love is the most incredible feeling in the entire world.” Willow stood at the corner of Mr. Jackson’s desk.
“Miss Rosenberg, I said nothing about true love being a problem.” The Principal sat back in his chair.
“Well obviously it is to you. Mr. Jackson, Tori and Dawn are just the same as everyone else. They love like everyone else. They talk, breathe, and sleep like everyone else. They dance like ‘normal’ couples at dances. They should be able to face the world as they are and not get judged.”
“I understand all of this, but Miss Rosenberg, not everyone is comfortable with a sexuality like that.” Mr. Jackson sat up straight.
“Oh really?” Faith spoke up. “So um, just out of curiousity, that night at the dance, did anyone complain that these two beautiful young women were dancing together to a slow song?” She sat on the corner of his desk picking up a picture of who appeared to be his son. “I bet your son’s gay and you just can’t deal.” She smirked.
“Faith.” Buffy pulled her away. “We’re trying to help out here, not make things worse.” The petite blonde whispered.
“Relax B, just want him to realize that it’s cool to be gay.” Faith settled herself next the other slayer.
“Mr. Jackson, if I may say something.” Joyce got up from her seat and joined Willow at the front. “When Buffy came to me, and told me for the first time that she had feelings for another girl, I was downright shocked and a bit upset. I wanted my oldest daughter to become a wife to a nice young man. But I realized that this other girl made my Buffy happy. Therefore I was happy. Now, trying having your other daughter come out and say ‘hey, my best friend is also my girlfriend.’”
Mr. Jackson played with his pen before looking up. “Mrs. Summers, Miss Tara Maclay, I know that you respects all of your daughter and sister’s life choices. But like I said before, not everyone is comfortable with it.”
“And like Faith mentioned before, did anyone else complain while Dawn and I were dancing? I mean come on, it wasn’t like we were making out in the middle of the dance floor, we just dancing. You know that thing you do when you move to the beat and have fun?!” Tori let her sarcasm shine through with pride.
Faith smirked and winked at the Principal. She was having fun causing a little bit of mayhem.
“Mr. Jackson, can we just ask for one thing.” Tara asked. “Let Dawn and Tori go to the Winter Formal together. Let’s just see how many people will actually send in complaints. Because honestly, if you have a problem with all of this, and even if it’s a personal one…that shouldn’t, no, YOU shouldn’t put a stop to their social activities. They simply want to dance…I promise.” Her sweet smile broke through as she felt Willow slide an arm around her waist.
“Ok. We’ll work it out. Tori and Dawn, why don’t you two go back to your classes for now? Ladies,” Mr. Jackson stood up and ushered them towards the door. “Thanks for coming and talking. I’ll run the dance thing by the board office and get back to you.”
“Whoa wait.” Mrs. Summers turned around. “Board office? Now Mr. Jackson, this wasn’t suppose to turn into some serious thing where we wanted to get the Board involved. It’s just a simple request.”
The Principal took a deep breath and sighed. “Fine. You win. You can go to the dance together, but I promise, any of that making out going on, you two will be suspended from dances for the rest of the semester.”
Everyone grinned and thanked Principal Jackson before leaving the office.
Looking at his son’s picture again, a faint smile grew on his face. “That Faith woman must have serious gay-dar…” He whispered quietly shaking his head and banging it lightly on his desk letting out a small frustrated groan.

“Hey Hadley, there’s your mommies.” Mikey clapped as he saw Willow and Tara walk towards them in the playground. “Where’s my mommy?” He asked himself.
“Mama! Willmy!” Hadley said excitedly and zoomed towards them in her wheelchair. She managed to stop right at her mama’s feet and Tara scooped her up.
“Hey my girl.” Tara kissed her daughter all over the face then nuzzled her neck. “I so missed you.” She sighed.
Hadley grinned closing her eyes for a second before opening them and looked a Willow. “I missed you too mama.” She pulled back and kissed Tara on the lips lightly. “And I missed Willmy.” Her hands flexed and her arms stretched out towards Willow.
“Hey sweetie.” Willow took her gently from her girlfriend’s arms. “How was school today?”
“It was good. Mikey invited Lily and me over to his place this weekend and his mom is gonna bake cookies too.” Hadley smiled playing with Willow’s hair.
“That is nice of him and his parents. Hi Mikey.” Tara said sweetly to the young boy. “Where’s Lily?”
“Her dad came and picked her up already.” Mikey said a bit sadly. “My mom is late again.”
“How about you and Hadley go play for while waiting for your mom to show up?” Tara grinned and watched the small boys eye light up with joy.
“Willmy, I love you so much, but can you put me down so I can play?” Hadley’s voice was small and innocent. She kissed Willow on the cheek before the red head placed her back in her wheelchair.
“Come on Mike, let’s go and play in the sand.” Hadley yelled over her shoulder.
“No getting your clothes too dirty.” Tara yelled after her daughter.
Willow let out a small giggle and laced their fingers together. “You are such an amazing mother.”
Tara blushed. “Thanks.”
“Seriously. An amazing mother, an amazing sister, friend and especially an amazing girlfriend.” Willow leaned in and placed a slow kiss on her girlfriend’s lips.
“I was wondering,” Tara whispered as she pulled back form the kiss, “When you leave for Australia, can I call you like everyday?”
“Of course. Although, I’d probably end up calling you every second.” Willow smiled weakly. “I am so going to miss you baby.”
“I know Will.” Tara pulled her close and snuggled the red head. “But you know…when you do get back…a lot of making up to do.” She murmured in the red head’s ear, biting the soft flesh lightly.
“Definitely.” Willow giggled a bit.
“Looks like Mikey’s discovering a first crush.” Tara giggled looking across the playground where Mikey and Hadley played. They watched as Mikey picked flowers and place them in Hadley’s golden curls.
“Looks like Hadley is quite smitten herself.” Willow grinned. “They look so cute together!”
Tara laughed. “Will…Hadley is only six, I’m not ready for her to have a boyfriend yet.”
“Well I’m just saying that they are so cute together, so good to each other. Reminds me of Xander and me when we were that small.” Willow sighed happily. “Did you know that he actually kissed me in grade two.”
Tara giggled and shook her head no. “Can’t blame the guy though.”
“Yes well it was one of those sloppy kisses that your grandmother gives you on holidays.”
“You nut.” Tara squeezed her closer. “Better not tell him that now…might ruin his macho and manly ego.”
“Promise I won’t say a word.”
“Good.”
“But I may go around and tell the whole world that you kiss like a Goddess.” Willow grinned.
Tara quirked an eyebrow and smirked. “Really? And tell me Willow Rosenberg…how exactly to you know what a Goddess kisses like?”
Willow thought about it for a moment. “Hmmm…like…” Her head moved in closer as her lips drew Tara’s in… “…This.” She whispered breathlessly.
Tara fell into the simple
kiss, soft, lingering and promising.
“Mama?” Hadley came up to her ‘parents’ and waited until they were finished for as long as she could, but Mikey had left a little over thirty seconds ago and she wanted to go home and play with Brady. “Mama!” She sang into her mother’s ear.
Tara broke away gently, dribbling a few kisses on her baby’s lips before pulling back and grinning.
Hadley giggled and tugged on Willow’s and her mama’s coats. “Come on you crazy lovebirds, let’s go home.”
