Yes, Sassette, as a theoretical Evil Genius, ending it without a happy ending would be the ultimate evil thing to do (insert Evil Laughter here) but I still have faith in Willow and Tara and you have always stayed true to their characters so I still have faith in you :)

*Must think of new cheer about happy endings *

PS I am not an Evil Genius but was trying to write the next chapter of my story and it came out really really dark that I surprised myself. So not everything is puppy dogs and chocolates but at this point in time, it should be :)

**ExtraFlameyWT: Heh ... thanks for cutting me some slack, but I am my own merciless slave-driver *G* I'll continue to post as fast as I can, despite being somewhat sad to see it end *shrug*

**jomarch: Ahhh ... Willow and Tara is the >perfect< thing to have faith in ... they will always find each other. And there probably won't be puppy dogs and chocolates, but we're likely to get hugs and kittens and maybe a tasteful shower scene. Or, if I'm in a goofy mood, a hot, steamy, naughty, smutty shower scene. Of course, now that I've mentioned it, if I fail to reach a 'goofy mood' and write it, I might get lynched.

**Yuri: I love you, but, sorry, not in a prison way ;) But, y'know, they wouldn't bupt us in the same prison, so I guess it doesn't matter *G*

**Karzia: Ummm ... happy ending? With, uhhh ... lots of love? Damn ... *tears up twelve pages* I guess >THAT'S< out, then. ;) But seriously, I will update as soon as I can ... working on the update now. Don't know if I'll finish it tonight, but I'm working on it.

Aww, I'm sad it's ending, too! Hehe, thinking back through the whole fic, my favorite was Tara and Anya's road trip...

Postby Owl » Mon Apr 29, 2002 4:59 am

I think that you should just embrace your inner Evil Genius. Just go ahead and accept it. It's part of you.

You are evil. You're even eeeeeeevilll, with a really skooky drawl on for emphasis.

But in a good way. In the best of ways. This really wouldn't work if you weren't. You have to give us something completely nasty before you can give us the "goofy mood" bits, right? It makes the aforementioned bits that much nicer. So, I'm raising a toast to your evilness. Na zdrowie. *clank*

I also wanted to say, because I forgot before, that I really like how you keep on with Willow's impatience. It's such a weak spot for her now that she can't use magick, and it makes me really, really nervous the way it's used here. Nice.

Oh, and maybe... Maybe it doesn't have to end, eh? Maybe you could write a... a sequel? or... alternate endings? I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself if I can't do Smitten stuff. *sigh* Could lead to dangerous social patterns. Cheering in public, that sort of thing.

Re: Answering Darkness

Postby Sassette » Mon Apr 29, 2002 5:11 am

**ExtraFlameyWT: LOL ... oh, yeah ... I had so much fun with that road trip. One day, Tara is going to suddenly realize that one of the hand movements Anya added into the choreography are those necessary to swiftly and efficiently disembowel someone with a spork. Gotta' love Anya.

**Owl: Embrace my inner evil ... embrace my inner evil ... Hmmm ... that sounds kind of ... wrong, actually *G* As for the sequel SCHMEQUEL thing ... hmm ... I dunno. Honestly, I kind of want to write a prequel called 'Calling Darkness' about Fiona and Margaret, but it wouldn't have a happy ending, and it technically wouldn't have W/T in it either, so I couldn't post it here, and so what would be the point? *G* But, I, uhhh ... I kinda' >do< have an idea for a sequel. Even have a title and everything. But I have no idea if/when I'd get around to writing it.

Of course, I'm having a rough time trying to get the next chapter pounded out, let alone another 400+ page fic. Yeesh.

Ooh I am SOOOO there for Calling Darkness. If it needs wriitng, write it. Worry about audiance and posting places later.

I think that one of the weaknesses of Fan Fic (the bits of it I know at least) is that you know just about everything you read is going to have a happy ending. There are some trajedies out there in fandom but they are few and far between.

Just thinking back to High School, I only did 1 Shakespear comedy in English (Midsummers Night Dream) but did Hamlet, Julius Ceasear and MacBeth. Not to mention Antigony, 3 times *rolls eyes*

ahh yes I wanna see/read that Prequel. But then you already know that since I brought it up to you a while ago. And I'd be MORE than happy to host it on my site for all the Kittens to come and view it. (i think i could even set up a small msg board for the Smittens to comment on it and keep ya motivated) ;) How does that sound? Of course it wouldnt be as elaberate as this board but it would be something rather than nothing. ;)

As for the Update showing up sometime tonight? Surprisingly I'm a tad busy at the moment to be too impatient about it. Must be the episode I've been watching all day and all the goodness it has in it. ;)

So update when you can I'm sure I'll be around to catch it. :)

Yuri, TX ... I love you guys, but you're SO easy ... You'd totally read anything I wrote. Like, a grocery list or something. As for Calling Darkness ... it's just something I kinda' had an idea for. I'll think about it and get back to you. However, >if< I write it ... which is a big 'if', because writing stuff with a downer ending depresses me, I'd likely not post it anywhere. And please - nobody suggest I post it here *G* It would SO be in violation of the Pens FAQ. TX, I >might< take you up on your offer ... but again, that's >if< I write it, and whether or not I write it is totally up to whether or not I really REALLY want to - no bribes will be accepted.

Oh Yikes!

I've been computerless for the last 3 days (tucked away in my sick bed, where some of the delirious dreams I had revolved around hell!).

From the time when Willow started the internal monlogue about cosmic balance always asserting itself, I had a fear that good ol' Glory would be making a comeback, but Jaysus, I never thought it'd be like that.

I too am all for Calling Darkness as well. (Boy that came out sounding all wrong :b ) I for one don't see why you couldn't post it here. I have seen other uber/AU stories and since this one would tecnichly be a past life story the W/T elements would still be present in it. I say go for it.

Eddited to add: Oh yeah the FAQ well I am gonna take a wait and see addituide. If you write it you know you have a readership, so lets just leave it at that :)

p.s. yes, "Calling Darkness" sounds like it would be a good fic... even if it doesn't have w/t. you are a phenomenal writer and it would be amazing anyway. and yes, we know it couldn't be posted here... all W/T :D

Eeeek! I am generally a silent reader but Sass, that was absolutely BRILLIANT. I was quite happily reading it when I reached the end, shrieked in horror, and promptly fell off of my chair. No, I'm not kidding. *Drops to her knees and begs Sass for an update*. I'll make it worth your while...

Ubers allowed?

Postby Kailyn Of Povar » Mon Apr 29, 2002 10:46 pm

On a just curious level here Xita, as I think it will be more a bit a of time before Sass gets her next story out, and this is 200k+ words of T&W goodness banged out in about 4 months, would an 'uber' (to steal the Xena term) Fan Fic be allowed?

Sass

As for your grocery list...well that depends on what is on it. Much of my enjoyment of it would depend on the beer you had on it.

Yeah I should be upset with you for not tell me you were writing this right off, but let me come in late.

Re: Ubers allowed?

**ExtraFlameyWT: Sorry ... still no update *G* But I'm working on it, I swear!

**GemBem: And this is why I love the kitten board: people on their knees promising to make posting an update worth my while *G* I, uhh ... hope you didn't hurt yourself falling off the chair.

**Yuri: Dos Eckes. And while I believe that "ubers" are allowed on Pens, any and all fic where Willow and/or Tara are paired up with someone else, however briefly, are very specifically not allowed. And it's not like I ever figured this fic would be more than, oh, I dunno, 40 pages long or so ... so it's not like I was trying to hide some big writing project from you *G*

Doh did not think of the pairing rule--does it applay to ubers?

Good beer. So long as long as its not the Dark Amber :-/.

Long, short what have you on the length. If you can do it in under 100 pages I would be surprised..seems you would have a lot to work in and develope.

And I think your friend would be happy to host this story too, not TX but that other nameless friend.

Watch Buffy. THen write.

**Yuri: I couldn't imagine it not applying to Ubers ... this board is for W/T fic ... and if you're doing some kind of AU type thing, I would feel that the W/T pairings ONLY aspect would be even more important.

Just watched Buffy ... gonna' go write.
